The biggest inventory of songs can be found through iTunes or Amazon (prices about equal). I tend to use iTunes because I have an iPod, but you should know that you can only play songs purchased from iTunes on iTunes (i.e. you can't play a song you bought from iTunes in Windows Media Player but you can play a song bought from Amazon on either WMP or iTunes). However, downloading iTunes is free.
