You know, it's a good thing that, from what I've heard, Colin Morgan isn't a big fan of the Internet. I don't blame him. Here I am, just trying to find a photo from one of the plays he did, and of course Google or whatever the heck site I went to has to be all nice and helpful and offer me "other photos I might like," and now I really wish there was such a thing as brain bleach because.... gaaah! *gags* Why! Why would anyone photo shop his head onto... doing... and also doing... with a thing... Get it out of my head!

I just wanted a picture from a play he did!

*Pets poor Colin and hopes he never sees what I saw and wish I could unsee*

This is why I don't do stuff like Tumblr or Facebook and rarely do Internet searches of my favorite actors. I have no luck with these things, I really, really don't. Google searches scare me.

(ETA: At least the pictures were too small at the time for me to pick up on the details. Still, I wish they had been even smaller :/)

Whyyyyyy. That kind of thing does just make you want to scrub your brain out, and it's awful when people don't even make an effort to properly tag or warn for things. It's like it just doesn't even occur to them that, no, really, some people seriously do not want to see those things. And sadly, even turning safe searches on and such is not enough to really block some of it. (I remember a while back when my mom was simply trying to find something like the Yellow Pages online, and going go a link that seemed like it'd be just what she was looking for... instead resulted in a site that you do not want to see, ever.)

*sighs*

It's a reason for endless headdesking and facepalming :(. And while the pictures themselves were disturbing enough, my biggest concern was for the actor whose head they used to tack onto the body. It's pretty obvious that it is photoshopped, but some people will believe just about anything, and such pictures could ruin a person's reputation.

Yeah. I feel so bad for the actors. :( I mean, these days I think the vaaaast majority of people realize what the internet's like and that the actors themselves generally have nothing to do with that sort of insanity. But it's still got to be horribly embarrassing, especially if anyone brings something like that up to their face, or asks about such-and-such rumor/picture that's been making the rounds. I think if I were ever to become famous (unlikely as that my be *g*), I'd have to severely restrict what I consider "safe places" to visit, and try to ignore the majority of the internet altogether, even if there might be really fun/flattering/interesting things to come across as well. Just... too much potential for trauma and embarrassment.
