Ah, the Woes of Dog Walking
So I was doing my volunteer round in the iso units at the Humane Society and taking each of the iso dogs outside to potty (they have a little area designated just for them). I don't mind taking the dogs out but they can be pretty frisky, and the big dogs make me nervous, not because they're aggressive, they're just big! So this one big guy decides he's going to circle around me, and I have to spin around quick to keep the leash from tangling around my legs. My ankle twists rather uncomfortably and I just manage to keep myself from falling. But I'm perfectly fine. In fact my ankle felt great and I was able to go about the rest of my day without issue.
Then I get home, and about two or three hours after the incident my ankle is swollen and killing me and I want to rip my foot off just to spite it (pain makes me incredibly, irrationally angry). So I do all the stuff you need to do for a twisted ankle and it's much better, though still tender.
But, still... can a twisted ankle do that? Start hurting hours later? That was just incredibly odd. Last time I bunged up my ankle in started hurting minutes later, not two friggin' hours later! But it's not as bad as last time so hopefully it'll clear up sooner. Still. Two hours later. It's like my body remembered "oh, right, I'm supposed to be in pain right now. Oops."
(Also, this must not be a good month for ankles. My sister-in-law broke her ankle just last week).
(Also, also, it seems someone's been breaking into cars in our neighborhood, and a family relation has gone off the deep end again and is causing all kinds of grief. I'm starting to think June has it out for us :/)
