. My apologies; I posted before I was finished (the dog joggled my hand, and then I had to leave.)
I visit a bed-bound friend twice a week, and I often read fanfic aloud to her, if I find a story that I'm pretty sure she'll like, and it's short enough. The length here was a bit iffy for read-aloud -- we had to take a break for supper, and her fave TV show -- but the story is so good that I just had to read it to her. She was enthralled, winced at all the descriptions, and laughed at Peter's wry observations of Neal. Several times she stopped me and had me repeat a sentence, simply because she thought your writing and turn of phrase was so elegant and evocative.
Anyway, that was her saying that this story is well written, and well thought out, that it reminded her of a particular Audrey Hepburn movie. But her husband came in and interrupted her thought, and after the sidetrack, we never got back to it.
Anyway, I checked out the story in the first place because I recognized your name on the SGA stories I've read. I've never sent you feedback before (shame on me!), but I've always found your characterization to be spot-on, and your stories engrossing. You've carried that talent to this new fandom, and I salute you; thanks for sharing your talent, and for brightening two people's day. .
