with written stories I find myself I occasionally just ploughing through in the vain optimistic hope that it might get better.

**NODS*** been there, done that, and it is very annoying, e.g. there was a Sheppard and Lorne ff which started out quite good but
then at the end it was real slash and there had been no warning.
(I noted later she applied one.)
What really got me was after what happened they both returned to Atlantis like nothing had happened.
Sorry, but that does not work for me.......it reflects naivety on the part of the writer, but what is more troubling to me personally is
Lorne happens to be XO of the Atlantis military expedition which means he must continue to work with Sheppard, and given what happened, that is no longer possible due to morale issues. Also it means a court martial if he reports what happened to SGC.
I know. I am looking at it in reality not from a fiction view point, but given my background, I really can't help it.
