But setting something aside for too long runs the risk of developing the habit of procrastination. I don't mind having to set something aside but each time around it takes me even longer to get back to it. With my other original novel, when I first started it I was really cranking out the words. But the further along I went, the more I started setting it aside until I was lucky if I was able to write a paragraph once a week.

I really don't want to go back to that is what I'm saying. If I have to set the story aside for a time to plan things out, that's fine. If it gets so that I'm back to a paragraph a week, I'm going to be ticked. I'm hoping that my current mindset of "just get words down" will stick after NaNo is over.
