DDoS is not really an hacker issue. It's basically a massive amount of spam thrown toward a provider to block the server - like a cafe which normally has to serve 20 to 30 people and suddenly 400 show up. And really, it's riddicoulus easy to get one of the codes, I think you are the 15 person or so who offered. I think they do it this way to build up their network slowly, so that they wont be overloaded by real users - I shudder to think what will happen if they are hit by a DDoS attack since their base doesn't seem to be secure enough to provide service for everyone interested without strings attached.

Well, I admit, I have some issues with DW - what you call private I call elitist. I don't feel welcome there, so I wont register anytime soon, no matter how many codes I get offered.

Yeah, I mean, the show can get away with plot holes, they just have to throw a little Bomer godness in and I get "oh shiney!" that I don't even realize that they put one over me until the episode is over. But as a writer it has to be perfect logical and interesting - somewhat difficult to archieve. But I'm going there. but it's great that so many writers are mentioning that they are occupied with the exchange, shows that they really put effort in their stories. I have the feeling that the result will be overwhelming - and exactly what we'll need in the middle of the hiatus.
