Whooo-hooo ... excellent! I loved the whole thing, but particularly enjoyed the decriptions of Neal in the water, knowing that he had thought about this situation before and trained himself to hold his breath and not to panic when resurfacing (as any noise would give him away). Also liked that you had Neal walking his way out, finding the convenience store, rather than relying on a phone or a rescuer. I like resilient Neal, and you delivered that wonderfully.
