I really enjoyed this a lot! The bad guy is very comprehensible, and oh, oh, poor Neal. Neat little character details in the early parts of the story, too, with the watercolors and (ironically) enjoying the feeling of being able to let his guard down. I also loved Peter's supportiveness and protectiveness -- I think it was a good writing choice to skip a lot of the buildup to the rescue and go right to that "He turned right into the barrel of agent Peter Burke's gun." moment, because we don't need to see the other stuff and that was an awesome reveal that we experienced right along with the characters. Also, Peter offering his pathetic little assortment of random glow-in-the-dark objects to help with Neal's fear of the dark -- hee! and also awww!
