That's the funny thing - I started out as a Rick girl. I hated Shane with a passion! The only thing he did that I liked was the beat down on Ed Peltier by the quarry. After the final episode in season 1 aired, I started looking at Shane in a different light and developed a real appreciation for him and for Jon Bernthal. I still love Rick though and some of their interactions send me into squeefits of joy (like the one in my icon). I have a feeling that that's about to stop though.
I think that the main thing about Shane right now is that he's holding on to the anger as hard as he can because that's easier to cope with than the pain. The way That Woman is treating him is tearing him up inside and he juse can't deal with the hurt. So he's using the anger and rage to cover that up, hoping he can bury it.
Hershel - I'm conflicted about him. Part of me says that he's right: it's his land, so his rules. But my loyalty lies with Rick and his group so yeah, the zombies gotta go. You have to choose the living over the dead.
