My skin is resistant to everything. I was in Hawaii once. My friend from college and I went to the beach everyday. Around 8 am we started towards the beach, but on the third day this man stopped me and said to please stop... That is was embarrassing. He'd watched us walk past for 3 days and I was still untanned... By the end of 7 days, I had a lovely Hawaiian tan. It took floating on the surface of Hanauma Bay (coral and snorkling) to force my skin to change color...
Ah, I miss those days of being able to tan gradually. I used to be pretty good at it back when I was a kid and went swimming a lot. I guess it's a conditioning thing - although how one goes from being able to gradually tan to immediately beet red, I have no idea.

My skin still won't change voluntarily...
