Have a book you just self-published, clothes you make yourself, homemade jewelry, toys, movies, music, then advertise it in indie_ads (just please don't forget to read the rules in the user info. Very important).

I would also really, really appreciate it if you can spread the word, so that those with something to sell and those wanting to buy can hear about it. I also plan on making another version in Dreamwidth either tomorrow or Monday. I'd do it today but making the LJ one kind of wiped me out (so many tags! *passes out*)

Any publicity is good publicity :D Especially since I have no idea where to advertise this. Most of the communities I'm a part of are all fanfic related and allow only fanfic related ads :/.

Ooo, actually, that makes me wonder if my professional blog might not be a good place to mention it as well. I don't like to associate my pen name with that, but I could give a shoutout to a community like that without connecting it with my LJ name. That tends to go out to a fair number of people, since blog posts on the NAIWE (National Association of Independent Writers and Editors) site typically get linked in the newsletter as well. I don't know how many people there would be interested in using an LJ community, but maybe worth a shot?

Oh, thank you! That would be awesome :D And, yeah, I hear you about being careful with your pen name. When my book is ready to go I plan on creating a whole new journal in order to post my ad. I'll happily use my regular journal to point others to my book, but I don't want my book to accidentally point people toward my regular journal.
