So, After much whining over my art skills...

I set aside the whining and drew this little ditty...

Which actually turned out how I pictured it a lot more than most of my pictures. I'm quite happy with it (though the wings I'm not sure about). I seem to be going through some kind of "dark" phase, since everything I want to draw seems to lean toward being creepy. I just finished drawing my own rendition of a horsefly which I can't post since it's for a contest, but it disturbed even me :/ (I'm not bragging, it really did.)

This has also been posted on Deviant.art but I'm pretty much getting no love over there except for the occasional fave. Which actually doesn't bother me as I've come across art that's blow-you-out-of-the-water good with not a single comment to show for it. Still, it can be a tad frustrating at times.

I like it very much. The color.........the wings are so graceful
Thank you for sharing it......

Thanks :D What I don't like about the wings is that they look like they're glued on, but I couldn't figure out how to fix that.

I wish I could describe what you could do for attaching them...........
I know exactly what would fix it but I am not sure how to describe it.....
All I can say is they should not be so abruptly attached.......perhaps
reaching down toward the ribcage for a flow rather than an abrupt attachment.
Does any of that make sense??? Perhaps someone who does artwork can describe
I took some art classes, human form and other, and our instructor in one class made the observation that I am trying to explain now........in order to give it more flow rather than abruptness.

It's one of those things where I know what I need to do but can't quite figure out how to do it. Though the more I look at it the more my mind toys with possibilities. Given time I should figure it out.
