White Collar Episode review

I sum up this episode thusly - ROTFLMAO

Neal copying Peter's motions while Peter's giving everyone the heads up. Neal giving some poor random agent the double finger point. Moz teaching Peter to be a pick pocket and June helping. Oh, Show! *hugs it*

I think the show is starting to sell me on Neal/Sarah. One of my worries was that it would be a whole love-hate thing, in which they're at odds one moment then rolling in the hay the next - a trope I despise. Though I do feel that them jumping right into making out and trying to rip each other's close off a bit sudden (I would have liked at least an episode or two more of some build up, but that's just me) I like that we're actually seeing that these two care about each other.

And, okay, maybe this is just me being an uber Neal fan but does anyone else get the feeling that the second half of the season has been somewhat Neal light so to speak? That it's been a bit... I don't want to say Peter focused. More, I guess, Peter doing more of the heavy lifting? This is twice now that we've had Peter doing what Neal normally does - back to back, in fact - with Peter the one ending up in danger.

Which I'm not complaining about, I swear (unless, of course, it continues like this. I hate it when shows get really character focused). I'm just wondering if it's just me or if this has been the season of Peter.

Next week's episode looks promising, though. But I will admit that if it ends with Peter in danger, I will be ticked. It's Neal's turn, dang it! ;P

I actually even less impressed by Sara now...I found the scenes with her distracting. I don't care for her sister. And as much as I like Mozzie and June, I would have loved to see Neal teaching Peter his trade, being the one allowed to lecture for a change...but nooooooo, because he's to busy to cozy up with Sara...that's EXACTLY the reason I'm so against her. She doesn't blend in at all, and she always takes time from the Neal and Peter interaction (and THAT's why I watch the show, damnit!)

Last week Neal gives up the ring, this week he is already head over heals with someone who "was at his trial"...that feels so forced, I have no words for it.

I really liked the main case, the latest development concerning the music box is interesting (did Alex lie, did someone use her, is it a big coincidence?????), but I could have done with less Sara and more of Peter trying to be Neal and Neal imitating Peter (wasn't it great how he fluently copied his stance? And the amusement of the team was great!!!! I wanted to see more of this!)

Though I'm a lot more okay with the Neal/Sara thing than I was, I do have to agree with this. And I think that's been my issue with the second half of the season overall - not as much Peter and Neal working together. Though I'm happy that Neal has found new love I'm a little nervous that the whole Neal/Sara thing will become his main story arc, with more Neal/Sara interaction and less interaction with Peter. I don't want Neal to become little more than a means for injecting romance and sex into the show. Like you, that's not why I watch. I watch for the Peter/Neal friendship and I watch for Neal cleverness, not Neal sleeping with people (in fact, a small part of what drew me to the show was that it was sex light).

But the role reversal was adorable :D

Well, it's my main complain about Sara (beside the fact that I liked her more when she gave Neal hell)...this is becoming a pattern. "Unfinished business" should have been about the fact that Peter send Neal undercover with a by-your-leave, ignoring his opinion and then NOT being there when Neal used the safe word...instead I had to suffer endlessly scenes about the woes of a character which got just intodruced. "In the Red" was okay, I suppose, at least it was not her fault that the episode was one of the weakest of the season. And in Burke's Seven, she felt forced in for me. And now this one...I really would have prefered more Peter/Neal interaction over Neal and her sitting over dusty files.

Plus, I don't think that she interacts good with the other characters...the scenes with Peter are strangely flirty (and that's just wrong). The scenes with Neal on the other hand have no chemistry to speak of, no sparkle (like Neal and Alex have). And the scenes with Mozzie are always akward, and not in a good way. Which is strange, since Mozzie's actor normally works good with everyone...perhaps he doesn't know what to do with Sara's character either.

I thought the ep was adorable! What I thought was telling was right before Neal and Sarah get together, Neal was watching Peter with "Mrs. Burke". He just looked so thoughtful as he watched them together. Now, I totally think he was already interested in Sarah, but I think seeing Peter so happily living a straight and narrow life is really looking appealing.

It was so cute. I loved Neal copying Peter's motions, and Diana getting all giddy and wanting to give Neal the file (she is so ornery;)) I actually feel a lot better about Neal/Sara, though I still felt them jumping each other a bit quick (and I kind of wish the major make-out scene had been toned down a bit. It was a bit too much, IMO). Still, it's nice that Neal has found someone else (though I hope it doesn't get in the way of Peter and Neal working together).

I do agree with Swanpride in that it should have been Neal (with June) teaching Peter his tricks. :) But it was funny to have Mozzie being the teacher with June providing such help.

The Sara story about her sister was a bit of a distraction from the overall plot but Sara's crushing on Neal's been obvious since her introduction - she was giving him puppy dog eyes when he wasn't looking her way.

However, I did cackle with glee over Diana wanting to give Neal the file since he was Peter and at the end of the ep when Peter blatantly stole his badge back from Neal. (I was amazed that Neal didn't even pay attention to it! :-p)

But man, oh man... Jeff Eastin is killing us on Twitter with hints and teasers for the finale next week. Gives us just enough to see that there will be whumpage and then, just says, "Oh you guys have to wait until next week!" (all the while cackling maniacally at teasing us fans. :-p)

I loved the office's reaction to the switch, and I can't get enough of Neal copying Peter while Peter was making the announcement.

I think Neal teaching Peter would have been awesome, but Mozzie and June teaching him was still cute :D

I think my only real nit was that I would have liked to have seen Neal doing more of what Peter does. Mostly Neal just rounded up the troops and flashed his badge - then the rest of the time it was just him and Sara in the library. But Peter was doing what Neal does plus managed to save himself, and that kind of bugged me. I had really wanted Neal to do more. I don't know what, exactly just... something other than sit around a library.
