White Collar Review

Now that's the White Collar we know and love :D Except for the new beginning. What do you all think? Personally I liked last season's opener much better. The new one is just kind of... meh (and I hate it when shows mess with a show's opening).

But on to the show! So much to love, listed incoherently out of order! Satchmo playing a part in one of Neal's schemes (he does love using dogs as accomplices ;)), Moz blaming poor Satchmo for things going wrong, Satchmo and his big floppy face you just want to moosh, Peter giving Neal free reign to scheme, Neal doing his thing, the book disintegrating but it actually working in their favor, Peter the astronomy nerd with his little sextet El gave him for his birthday. Peter, Neal, El and Mozzie all working together, Neal bugging Peter to come out and play, El asking Peter if he wants to go play with Neal and mirrors (adorable!), El encouraging all the eight-year-old enthusiasm of the boys, things with the loot getting hot, Peter trying to explain Neal's anklet to a little girl, Peter and Neal saving the day... I warned you the squee would be out of order ;)

Fun, fun, fun. Man, I love this show.

I was a little nervous that they were going to have Neal and art detective woman sleep together or something, because any other show that would have been the case within five seconds. Needless to say, my relief was mighty.

The cliffhanger ending was nice and I'm really starting to like where they're taking the treasure arc. You can't help but cheer Neal and Mozzie on, not because you want to see them leave with the treasure, but because you don't want to see things between Neal and Peter become horribly undone. I'm both excited and nervous about how the show will end the treasure arc, because there's so many possibilities.

It's not so much about escaping as it is about Mozzie's paranoia. He wants out where the conspiracies and the monsters from his paranoia can't get to him. He wants out of the SYSTEM. This big score gives him enough money so that he can accomplish that, not live in fear anymore. Of course, we carry our fears with us and so no matter where he goes or what he does he'll never outrun what he fears the most.

He wants Neal because Neal is really the only one Mozzie really trusts, if he trusts anyone.

Right now, Neal seems just along for the ride. He's not initiating anything and as Swanpride said, is dragging his heels on this.

Mozzie's paranoia is a good point...I don't really get the rush either, but if Mozzie is convinced that somebody will catch them if they stay too long....but a small discussion about their options would have been nice in the first episode.
