Ugh, it finally happened

I took a spill down the stairs. Thankfully it was a slide and not a tumble (yay for quick reflexes!) But my right foot took the brunt. I can still walk on it, but bend it the wrong way and it hurts. I'm pretty sure it's sprained or something (and... what was it you do for sprains? Ice, elevate and a wrap?) and my tailbone aches :P

I always knew that one day those stairs would best me. Evil, evil stairs. Get 'em Obi-wan!

Oh my word, been there, done that, but my nosedive down a flight of stairs featured several fractures to my left foot, a bunged up left knee, thank goodness not that injury athletes have which requires surgery, and a bunged up left shoulder when I came to a stop at the railing on the first landing......
Are you sure your foot is not broken? Initially I was
convinced mine was a sprain too

Owwwww. D:

I really messed up my right ankle a few years ago when I tripped while running and folded it over. I never did see a doctor about it -- like you said: wrap, ice & elevate, and I also tried to walk as little as possible for a couple of weeks. It actually took years to heal to the point where it no longer hurt when I'd step on that foot the wrong way, which probably means that going to the doctor would have been the sensible thing to do. :/

Feel ya, babe. Been there, done that, broke my tailbone and tore the ligaments in my ankle. Handfuls of ibuprofen and a rubber donut (for sitting) were my friends for months! Hope the same hasn't happened to you.

Oh, ouch, nasty. D:

I hope you're doing better soon! Be careful to take good care of that foot... Sprains can be even nastier than breaks, as far as actual healing's concerned - longer recovery, and easily re-injured for a long time afterward. :( You might want to consider seeing a doctor about it, if you can, to make sure you're taking the best course for healing that you can.

Oh, sorry to hear that. Funny that today I picked up my refill of prescription Ibuprofen. Tripped and fell almost 3 weeks ago over junk I left in my way. Bruises and bruised ego! But I re-injured my chest muscle from cancer surgery a few years ago. Damn, not again! Don't you just hate it when stuff like this happens? Puts one in a bad mood. God help the people around me; bitchy, bitchy me.

Oh Hun, aren't we a pair? I'm sitting here with a cryo-cuff around my recently had surgery knee. I've been trying to care for a sick dog and not taking care of myself in the process. I was on my knees trying to comfort my puppy at the vet (he was staying overnight and had never been away from home except to my brothers or my brother in laws.

You should wrap it, ice it, and elevate it. I did something similar in Paris two years ago. It was black and blue. My poor nephew was trying to cope with me, he wasn't yet 21. Picture me trying to talk to a pharmacist who speaks very little english... LOL! But, we figured it out.

Get off your feet...

Stairs can be pretty bad, but at least it wasn't a nose-dive down a ladder!
