Digital Art

My firs foray into digital art. I mostly did it as an experiment, so it's kind of rushed and nothing spectacular, but I feel it came out better than I was expecting. While making this was rather fiddly (I used GIMP) I really like the control painting digitially gives you. Fixing mistakes is so much easier.

I liiiike! It looks very nice! :D

I have found that, while there are certain areas where I'm still struggling to get the feel in digital art the way I can do it with pencil and paper, there are so many things to love about digital art. The freedom to experiment that comes with the undo button and layering options being high on the list!

(LOL, the other day I picked up some knitting for the first time in years and when I thought I'd dropped a stitch I found myself just staring at it, thinking, "Nooooo, ctrl+Z, ctrl+Z!")

I finally figured out how to do layering. Wish I had learned it sooner, it would have saved me so much grief. Thank goodness for tutorials.

Being able to easily undo something is what I've loved best about it thus far. It's also helped me get a better grasp on colors and how to shade with colors, which is something I've always had a hard time with.
