Bit 'o Fun - What Should Joe Be in?

Just a bit of pointless fun. If you could write the next show for Joe Flannigan to be in, what would you want it to be about?

I've heard a lot of people say they would love to see him play a detective, and I agree, but it shouldn't just be any old detective show. I think he would rock as a detective during the '20s, '30s or '40s. Or a modern day detective with something unusual about him: maybe he's a werewolf, or a shapeshifter. Although the latter plot is usually better off when done in book or movie form. Fantasy seems the finest of all genre lines that TV shows walk. Still, it's a fun concept :D.

Think werewolves have been done to death, no wait, it's vampires. They're everywhere. Now, a shapeshifter would be cool! I've tried but just can't get into period pieces. I like it now or in the future :)

I'm not sure, everything I cna come up with has been done. I could see him being a profiler for the police, allowing him to show his acting range by 'getting into the minds of killers' even though he was a guest star on such a show. This way he got t o show his intellect, while throwing in some action stuff.

Or doing something along the lines of "Burn Notice".

Yes! Jason and Joe would be awesome together in whatever they were in.

I'd contemplated them being Bounty Hunters, but it kept making me think of Renegade - which was a show I wasn't particularly fond of - so didn't mention it.

I like kristen999's idea of a profiler type show where Joe would have a wide range of characters/emotions. I'd love any kind of action show with a touch of humor because he does that so well. I like Jason's idea as bounty hunters. Or maybe Interpol agents where they have to deal with counterparts across the world, who should primarily be David and Rachel. They could team up and chase down all kinds of cases and situations.

I think it would be cool seeing him traveling around the world. What if he was just some no-name paper-pusher for a huge, worldwide company, and then he inadvertently gets thrown into the middle of some international intrigue...?

Reading coolbreeze's entry gave me the idea of Joe like a Jason Bourne type character...I think he would be cool with all that. Like the idea of Joe and Fedora. Like the idea of Joe and Jason as partners as well, teaming with David and Rachel more. And if we were to add a scifi twist to the mix I choose shape shifting.

Add Rachel to the mix as the girl he befriends and we have an all around winner.

Someone who is great at Shep whump, angst and action could do an excellent fanfic version of what the show would be like.

Another idea(you started this)instead of shape shifting what about a master of disguise. Ever seen the Saint? Joe would make a great one...action, humor and yes emotional and physcial whump.

I think Joe and Jason should be Fed's and David and Rachel their MI-5 or Interpol counterparts. David N. should be the lab guru that works the forensics for the specialized American/Brit team. I could see them working terrorist plots and international crimes all over the world.

Anyone remember Ellery Queen? Or maybe Joe could be a photojournalist; could be very interesting. He could shoot everything from high fashion to war zones and maybe do a little detecting/spying on the side.

Apparently, Joe wants to play a Jim Rockford type character who is contracted by a government agency (think Men in Black) to help them hunt aliens.

Hee-hee! That's so awesome he wants to do a show like that :D. I know that at one time he said he wasn't a big sci-fi person, though being in SGA had opened him up to it. I totally hope he does a show like that.
