Looks like we might be getting an early winter this year. Cool weather has come early. I mean, yeah, it usually starts creeping in around October but this time it did it's creeping a littler early into September. Usually summer tries to hold on with everything it's got, staying hot to relatively warm in September and only starting to cool in October, but staying well within the 70s (F).

But this year, September and October declined fast from 90s and 80s into 70s, then 60s and 50s and now my sister is telling me that Saturday and Sunday, temperatures will be in the 40s!

And, oddly enough, I'm looking forward to it. Along with being chilly, it's also been raining like crazy. Could that mean actual snow this year? I hope so. I'm not a fan of winter, don't like all the bare trees and get cold like you wouldn't believe. But if there's snow involved, then I love it. There's nothing like being all warm and cozy inside while it's cold and perfectly white outside. Plus snow will always be fun to play in :D

My biggest hope is that we'll get snow for Thanksgiving and Christmas; that's always a blast :) I'm really looking forward to Christmas - not because of presents - but because it's such a bright, colorful, glittery time of year and I have an almost-fetish for all things bright, colorful and glittery, especially during winter when everything is so drab and gray. Also, it'll be nice to have a normal Christmas, with the tree and lights and decorations. Last year was a no-go on the decorations as we were moving from one house to the other, a process that extended from the latter half of December into January. Oi, that was horrible. It felt like the move would never end, then the unpacking would never end. Then winter had to cling for dear life all the way into April, then leave a parting gift of chilly weather into June.

So here's hoping for a fun winter this year.

When I was in DC there was an officer who I worked with and in her cubicle was a sign that read:
"Toto, I don't think we are in Kansas anymore"
She was from Kansas............
:P

We are having the opposite problem here in Central Florida. It was 96F when I picked my daughter up from school. :|

I wouldn't mind if it dropped to the high 80s! Feel free to push a little coolness down this way!

*Pushes cool air*

Given time, I'll start missing those 90 and 80 temps. My tolerance for the cold is very short lived. I can't even stand being in a heavily air conditioned room for too long before I start shivering.
