Heh, I can see how Maude would have won it and then tried to keep it hidden from young Ezra (we know how well that would have worked right?) and Ezra sneaking in to use the egg as a confidante... Maude of course wouldn't know Ezra was doing this, so when the newborn hatchling went directly to Ezra she would have been all "What? How? Grrr..." *g*
I think the two having dragons out of seven would work, the way you make it sound is that dragons are fairly common - and since one might be female and one male you could use that to play them off each other too. But that is up to you. :)
