Poor Jewel

I took each of the dogs for a short walk, today. One at a time up and down our street. Our biggest dog, Jewel, is getting on in years and has trouble with her back legs. She was going fine at first, but on coming back we had to stop periodically so she could rest, as her back legs kept giving out on her. We eventually made it back, but she was practically dragging herself into the back yard.

I had been iffy about taking her for a walk, but she was so excited about it. She even managed to stumble onto some onion rings someone threw out the window. So for her I'm pretty sure it had been worth it despite her leg troubles :D

awww the poor dear
that was what was happening to my dear shelby (my 16 year old border collie)

but we couldn't not take her she loved the park so much

Awww... Poor thing. My heart goes out to you! I hate it when they get older...I wish they could live as long as we do.

So do I. I dread the day when out pets will pass on. We may end up having to put Jewel down if things get any worse :(

What really sucks is that Jewel still has quite a bit of spunk in her, but her legs won't let her use that spunk. We're dreading the day when we might have to put her down :(

its been 6 months and i miss my dog soooooo much i can't even say.

it seems a lot of dogs have leg problems so she might be okay for a while yet... :)
maybe there is something the vet can help with
