Spriiiing! Er, sort of.
Apr. 1st, 2013 04:18 pmWe're finally heading into that schizophrenic part of the season known as spring, in which temperatures in verging on the eighties lead directly into temps in the forties then back again, so you're never quite able to put away your winter clothes nor figure out when to bring out your summer clothes.
But we're getting rain! Days of it! And not just little storms that come and go but the lingering stuff. Which better darn well mean we're free of this drought.
Pepper the kitten has acclimated well (or as well as she can get around a bunch of huffy cats who really like their personal space). She's a funny little cat, but she's proving to be a rather terrible lap cat. She'll be laying there one moment all calm and floppy, then the next roll over and attack my shirt. It's either that or she's up on the chair, attacking my head. She has all these toys but it's my hair she wants to play with :/ But at least she doesn't bug me when I'm trying to sleep, which was my biggest worry. She can be quite insane when she gets wound up (it's hilarious). She's very clever, though. One of the cat toys I'll keep in my desk drawer so that it doesn't get stepped on and break. I put it away one night, and Pepper jumped on the chair and began pawing at the drawer until I got the toy out. Another toy we'll keep in a basket on another desk since one of the dogs keeps trying to chew on it. Pepper will jump on the desk and get it back out. There is no stopping that cat when she wants something ;) She's also a very boneless cat. She doesn't daintily lay herself down like the other cats, she practically throws herself down, then will end up in various positions throughout her sleep that you would think impossible. Oh, cats :D
And the final funny story. She tried to give adult cat food a try, took a few bites, then went right back to her bowl of kitten chow. In fact if I don't put the bowl where it can't be reached, the other cats will have it licked clean by the end of the day :P
