Happy Daaaaaay!
Mar. 7th, 2015 04:36 pmThe cat I've been fostering since Thanksgiving has finally been adopted! Cheese has her forever home!
The poor cat. Her owner, who'd been elderly, had passed away and no one had known about it for two days. Cheese was found not only matted but with these sores on her legs from all the feces and urine getting caught in her fur. She was in so much pain she was antisocial and kept peeing on everything. But the more she started to heal the more she opened up, and by the time she was fully healed she was the sweetest, cuddliest cat. I mean she went from hiding in the corner of the cage to sprawling out on my lap for hours. But getting her adopted was such a pain because she was so shy around strangers, and she needed a home with no other cats and no kids (we would have adopted her, but she didn't get along with my cats at all, especially Roxy).
And she fnally has that home! The people who adopted her loved her to bits at first sight, and she was really open with them, more so than she had been with anyone else.
I'm going to miss the needy little butterball, but I'm so dang happy for her.
