Went to the Kansas State Fair today after not going for about two years. There was a reason I stopped going - in part because I had to help take care of my grandpa and also in part because the fair has a way of going from fun to miserable. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy going to the fair - the animals, the rides, the food, all the stuff there is to look at. But it also means dealing with crowds (which can be a struggle for me), lots of walking, then sitting around for hours watching animal judgings when all I want to do is go home. And, of course, the weather.
This time, it was freakishly humid. Then it was hot and humid and my patience wore thin a lot sooner than it usually does. Thankfully, I wasn't the only one about ready to drop so we went home early. Needless to say, I'm tired, and one side of my neck ended up sunburned. Oh, well. Maybe Friday the weather will be nicer and I'll go again, this time to actually ride some rides.
