It's mostly the middle that's giving me issues; it felt like it was moving too fast and major plot developments coming too soon.
I also think it's because the story wasn't turning out how I wanted it. I wanted a creepy mystery, with monks going missing and some of them ending up dead, but the story ended up taking a different turn and I lost interest. It's not that what I have now doesn't work, but it's not what I really wanted so I may have to rethink things.
