Meh. I hate it when favorite stores close. Especially a favorite bookstore. :| You're right, ordering a book online just is't enough, sometimes. I love browsing a cozy book shop.
And I'm so sorry about your dog! What a hard call to make. I've been watching our own dog, Strider, get gray around the muzzle, and wishing he would just stay a puppy. It's so hard to imagine life without much-loved pets! *hugs*
