Oh, this was absolutely great! Fabulous casefile plot woven through with a really nice emotional plot too. I particularly liked the scenes at the beginning, the way that you conveyed Neal's emotional shock and the fact that he really was hurt in a very deep way without actually having a physical scratch on him. Phillips was a great OC, unsympathetic but very memorable and unique. And the scenes with Peter & Neal, and Neal & Mozzie, were absolute perfection -- spot-on character voices, and nice nuances. You do such a great job with all of these people: Neal's aversion to violence (I like that there's not a simple reason, it's just who he is) and his need to protect his boundaries during recuperation; Peter's worry and affection for Neal, but still that little bit of suspicion and need to pry into Neal's affairs that he can't quite shake. And then the bit with Peter and Neal at the end was just the perfect ending to a really fun story. :)
