I hear you. I have never had anything remotely resembling a tan. I burn, blister and peel. Even SPF 50 and up barely allows me to sit outdoors after the height of the sun has passed - and that would be under shade. I once got a sunburn sitting in my living room because I fell asleep near the window and the drapes were open.
I also had a heat exhaustion/heatstroke episode at an amusement park ending up in me being removed from the place on a stretcher. However, I did wonder if a contributing factor (other than heat and humidity) was my heavy use of high SPF sunblock. I wonder if it prevented adequate heat evaporation. I know I was drinking a lot so that was probably not as big a factor.
