I think Sheppard is a very "be prepared" kind of guy, so probably has at least his tennis shoes waiting by the bed. He probably just slips into them without putting on socks (either that or he wears though small socks. His ankles are always bare.)
Yeah, I would like to see him waking up in that bed. He'd probably be all stiff.
