Distasteful Anatomy

Another inquiry, yay! To satisfy curiosity...

Are there certain parts of the human body you don't like for whatever reason - think its ugly or it just grosses you out? Ears, nose, feet? I was just wondering because I, personally, cannot stand the *shudders* navel. Just cannot... ick! Serisouly, can't even think about it, can't talk about it, hate coming across the word (both words for that particular area of the body) when reading. It just... bothers me, groses me out, even when I try not to let it. It's why I have a low tolerance for gut wounds. It's not a phobia or to the point where I'm all "Ew, the hated body part, must look away!" But I tend to get bothered when attention is drawn to it.

Why this dislike? I have no idea, it just is and always has been for me, with no real origins. At first I thought I was being wierd, but my sister is the same way with feet. She hates feet, hates it when people pick their toenails, and gets grossed-out and freaks if you bring your bare foot too close to her. Why? *Shrugs*

So I'm curious if others share similar "issues" with certain parts of the human body.

Aside from sexual organs? Hmmm....well, for me it more the form of certain parts. For example: necks and lips make me weak in the knees when they're a shape and form I find appealing, but they gross me out when they're not. That sorta thing. I can't off the top of my head think of any body part other than sexual organs that always make me shudder.

OMG. FEET FREAK ME OUT. Like, seriously, even my own freak me out. I can't handle them. Touch my feet, or even worse, touch my feet with THEIR FEET??? Yeah, I will Hit. The. Roof. :)

No clue why. *shrugs*

Bellybuttons, however, are okay. Mine is sort of cute.... ;)

It is so wierd, these dislikes. I was talking to my mom about it, and she says that she just doesn't let stuff like that bother her. Okay, then, tell me how you "not" let it bother you? I do try not to let it bother me, and some days it doesn't bother me that bad, but other days (especially if I'm in an agitated mood) it bugs the crap out of me. Oh well.

Well...honestly? I've never given the mannner of body parts much thought. But now that you mention it...sometimes I do find people toes a bit...out there. :)

On the bad days, I just get extra annoyed. But on the bad days, I get annoyed about a lot of things. Thus why they are bad days. Most of the time, though, it actually doesn't bother me "that" bad. I'll just sigh dejectedly and move on. It's not a phobia, just... a dislike. Sort of like how I dislike Rodney whump unless Sheppard gets whumped, too. Some days, especially bad days when I'm in need of a good Shep whump fic to help my mood, but I run into Rodney whump instead, it'll turn my mood a little extra sour, sometimes leading me to snap at people over mundane trivialities.

Feet in general does seem the prevalent disliked body part for most people. though I have heard of some who dislike peoples' nose, some ears, some mouths. It's the level of dislike that boggles even me. I have no idea why I dislike the body part I dislike - there's no origins to it. I suppose it's kind of like how some people will be afraid of spiders but not snakes, and some will like spiders but have an irrational fear of balloon animals or canaries.

Humanity, as a whole, is wierd.

Bad teeth. I'm not talking crooked teeth here. I'm talking brown nubs, so much tartar build up that it looks like they've been set with a really crappy mortar job, teeth that look like the person just may have heard about toothbrushes sometime in their life.

Heh. Don't forget the bad breath that comes with it. I hate it when people who have no concept of personal space crowd you and breathe foul breath on you while talking. And for some reason every person who has ever crowded me has always had really bad breath... or body oder.

Agreed.
I think it's partly the way things are shaped to the human eye. Some people like different shapes, and sizes, and colors. Perhaps its because of peoples tastes in general.
