At last! I will finally know what it's like to be too busy to do anything else! I've been hired to do data entry at the post office, and if I can pass two weeks of the typing exam, then I'm set. It's actually the perfect job for me - just sitting in front of a computer, typing away. No having to interact with anyone, no annoying surprises, and I'll be working in the evenings so no having to get up early :D. And if I can get the schedule I want - eight to ten hour shift starting at six, it shouldn't mess up my sleeping. I stay up pretty dang late as is, usually typing on the computer ;).
Now all we need is to find a house we like, move into it and I can breathe a happy sigh. We've managed to find several houses of interest. The house my sister-in-law found is still on the list of potential buys. However: A) my mom is wary about the foundation and B) it's still being renovated with no set time on when it'll be finished. If we buy it and it's not ready then we'll have to stay at my uncle's house - which would mean a very long commute for me. There's also no garauntee we'll be able to get highspeed, and after finally experiencing highspeed, I doubt I'll have the paitence to go back to dial-up.
More than that, though, I just want to get the moving part over with. It's what I hated about being a military brat - didn't mind the move, did mind having to live in temporary base housing for a house to open up and our stuff to arrive. Really, though, I don't care where we live. Since we're buying instead of renting, we don't have to worry about our pets any more.
Needless to say, we're going to be pretty busy in December - which sucks as I was looking forward to putting up Christmas decorations. All that color and shiny stuff makes these gray winter days so much more tolerable;) Decmeber is uber busy for the post office, obviously, and then, of course, there's a lot of packing to be done. So besides the secret santa fics, I "probably" (in that you can never really say with me) won't be doing a lot of writing (yeah, big news there, right? ;)). Which is a good thing, really. I need a break, but haven't been able to force myself to take one because I get so bored so easily and need something to do.
