kriadydragon: (Obi-Wan)
To all those who requested a story and haven't received said story, no worries as they are in the works. If anyone else wishes to make a request, feel free to do so. The laptop isn't here yet and I need to satisfy my writing crave.

Now I would like to make a request for anyone willing, who has the time, or is in need of a plot bunny. I'd like a story that involves Shep going hungry - starving or about to starve to death. Maybe he's lost and alone, or maybe it's a torture tactic (there was a story in which food was used to torture John so that when he was finally rescued, he was unable to eat. It was so sad!) It can be in chapters or a one-shot. I've been looking for a story beyond FF.net that involves a starving Shep but keep running into slash. I would love it if someone could write a starving Shep story (just with no slash or romance.) Pretty please? I'd be willing to do a special request story in return - special request being a more specific plot rather than a general idea. If you have a plot that's been driving you crazy, you like, but either don't want to write or can't do to RL or too many plots as is, then I'll write it for you.

If I can work with it. There are some ideas I won't touch with a ten foot pole: Romance and slash, obviously.  I also won't do appendectomy stories  or a plot that involves abdominal wounds.  I'm not too fond of abdominal wound fics, don't know why. Too many people obsessed with Sheppard's abdomen, I think. I prefer chest and/or back wounds myself but will damage legs, arms and head as well (my gosh I'm sick!).

Quick! Set out some snares!

This sounds like a fic I would like to read. Do you have the link for the story you mentioned?

I'm glad you steer away from slash. I hate it when I find stories that appear to have a really interesting plot only to discover that they're slash.

If you're sick so am I! I'll admit I prefer the same areas as you, especially back wounds, and I'm partial to whipping as a form of torture. I scare myself sometimes.

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3407974/1/ It's called Food for Thought by Listy.

I find that slash sometimes ruins a lot of stories, plot-wise. I was reading this one the other day that I had no idea had slash involvement. It started out all cute until it came to the slashy part. Totally ruined what could have been a cute fic. What really ticks me off, though, is that it's always Sheppard' they're making gay.

People are free to write what they want, but if they're sticking slash into a story just to have slash then in many cases they ruin what could have been a really good plot. Although the same could be said for het romance and unecessary whump.

Okay, rant over. I must agree - whip wounds on the back *sighs dreamily* We are a mighty sick bunch.

Thanks heaps for the link!

The thought of Sheppard as gay makes me wince.

If you ever happen to write anything with whip wounds on the back I don't mind at all! Sorry I don't have a plot to offer you. Maybe one day.

That was me before. Didn't realise I hadn't logged in. I'm still more than half asleep.

Shameless self-advertising ahead...

Wayfarers has whipping. Hound of Hell you Cry has John getting cut up. Eyes Wide Open has him getting 'really' cut up (I wouldn't recommend that one unless you have a strong stomach) Mercy he's whipped, beaten, and brain-scrambled, Squaring the Circle has severe beatings... It's mostly my chapters fics that have the bigger whump.

But if you want a good whipping scene, Wayfarers has one in chapter four.

Ooo I'll have to go back and read these. I've been reading Wayfarers (which is incredibly intriguing btw) but I haven't gotten to chapter 4 yet. My lunch break is in 27 minutes and counting. I know what I'll be doing then!

That starving story you were talking about - where did you find it?

I like the mutated Shep themes. Maybe an evil Ronon can be pursuing Shep. They have a fun dynamic.

I love all your fics!

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3407974/1/ Food for thought by Listy.

I've mutated Shep and have been pondering doing a sequel. Sholio (Freindshipper) did and evil Ronon pursuing Shep fic. I don't know if you've read it already. If I happen to find the link I'll post it.

Have you read "Silent Sacrifice" by Daring Duo at fanfiction.net?

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3000187/1/

It's rated T. I don't remember any romance at all, I think it's a team fic.

John, Ronan and Rodney crash on a planet. John ends up starving himself in order to help the others.

It's a long, very good read!

Yep. If it's on FF.net, Shep whump, and not rated M, then I've read it. That's been my problem with finding fics, lately. I've read pretty much everything on FF.net so I've been scouring LJ. The problem with LJ is that a lot of people don't put warnings, and slash is the dominant genre. I know there's probably good stories out there, but finding them means running into fic I regret reading later. Sometimes it's not worth it.

I'm not too fond of abdominal wound fics, don't know why.

It's interesting the little quirks we all have within the genre of whump. I don't mind ab wounds, but am not too fond of broken limbs. Some of my whump-fond friends can't fathom my issue with broken limbs and I can't really explain. *shrug* It seems like everyone has something, though...

Date: 2007-05-10 11:35 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] kriadydragon.livejournal.com
I'm kind of indifferent toward broken limbs as I think that form of whump rather dull. I mean, unless the bone is sticking out of the skin, there's not as much urgency as, say, a broken rib that could potentially puncture a lung. I don't know what it is about ribs, but I'm always having Sheppard's broken.

Except for abdominal wounds, I don't care how Shep gets whumped so long as he ends up being whumped more than McKay. If a story by someone who's supposed to be a Shep whumper has McKay getting more whumped than Shep then I get slightly annoyed. I'm kind of wierd and biased that way.

*chuckles* I'm the same with McKay and Shep whump. I don't mind a little McKay whump, as long as Shep gets it much worse! :D

That sounds like a very interesting plot. Could you please do us a favor and post a link to the story if you find one? I'd love to read it.

Of course, you could always write a story like that...although one could say Wayfarers sort of fits. BTW, I'm loving that one, but I love most of your stories.

Just click on Fanfiction in links, go to favorite stories on my bio-page, and you're sure to find quite a few starving Shep fics there. Silent Sacrifice, Food for Thought, and What's Left Behind have some good starving Shep stuff. Stories by Titan5, Merlin7, and the Daring Duo will have a malnourished Shep somewhere.

I think the majority of my stories have a malnourished Shep eventually (especially Mercy). But I would like to read a starving Shep story by someone else. It's just not the same when it's your own story.

Hello!!!!!

A bunch of us were a little bored yesterday on the whump thread and made a list 101 things to do to John Sheppard in the infirmary. Here is the link
http://forum.gateworld.net/showpost.php?p=6687803&postcount=78470

If any of these inspire you that would be awesome!!! I particularly feel squee about no 21 and 67!!!!!!!!! but I know that I have already made a request to you :)

I've seen that list.

Must. Avoid. List! I don't really need any isnpiration when it comes to the whump, it's plots I need help with since I don't like to whump for the sake of whumping. There needs to be a little more to it.

Hmmm... think I'll take another peek at that list... no, mustn't!
