Over yonder on [livejournal.com profile] writers_lair , [livejournal.com profile] rhymer23  posed an excellent question on story summaries that, I think, we need more feedback on. You don't have to answer the question directly, just give us you opinion on story blurbs/summaries - what kind of summaries draw you in? Do you prefer them vague or revealing? etc (you'll see what we're looking for when you read rhymer's post). Blurbs are a pain in the butt, but an incredibly necessary one in the writing world. Thus the need for more input.

Summary content

I get drawn in by summaries that reveal which characters are involved and who gets whumped or just a brief teaser of the plot...but nothing too revealing, especially if there is a twist or a secret about the plot. "Shep falls off cliff" isn't too revealing, though. ;) - Diane

I want to know about the characters thats more important then the story for me

i want to be able to identify with the characters right off, so the blurb should give you an idea of what the character is like

Usually, what draws me in is if the summary tells me something about what kinda whump my fav character is about to feel...

It has to be about Sheppard, Mitchell, Jackson, or Crichton. Any of them...
