One Persistent Pooch

Poor dog. She so wants to be in the basement with us, but that means having to eventually go back up. Jewel's a hefty dog, part Australian shepherd, part German shepherd, and she has issues with her back legs. She can get down the stairs fine, but getting back up is next to impossible without our help. We actually have to hold her back end as she scrambles up.

But does that stop her from coming down? Nope. And it's funny because our other dog Jack, who's young, healthy and spry, is too much of a coward to even try to come down stairs. Every time we try to get him to go down, he runs off and hides.

Such stranger creatures, pets are.

Spimds, er, sounds like our dog (must put fingers on correct keys). He had surgery (bladder stones), couldn't do stairs fora while, then I, er, uh, fell on him (dog and cat's fault and I decided not to get killed so hit him). Hasn't been the same since, so if he wants upstairs, I must lug his 40+ body up the stairs, and 9 times out of 10, down as well. I guess I can look at it as exercise...

Heh-heh, exactly ;) Although, since it's the dog's back end that has to be handled, especially a dog who has, er, um... 'gas' issues as well... I think I'll just stick to the treadmill :S.

I'm lazy, she'd just be banned from going down stairs. If you can't make it back up by yourself, you aren't going down there.
See, horses have their uses, especially when they live at somebody else's house :D

It is amazing what lengths pets will go to just to be with their people. It is more amazing what lengths people will go to to be with their pets. I would definitely be the one helping my dog back up the stairs, even with gas issues!
