Good gravy, it seems a black hole has opened up at FF.net and sucked away the majority of my favorite authors.  There's been nothing but cross-overs, wierd AUs, nauseatingly fluffy romances... basically the stuff most of us complain about. So far, the only good stories I've read this week have been Titan5's and Arem's.

I'm not complaining (seeing as how I haven't posted or updated there either) I just find it eery. There are several stories by authors who are normally good about updating (or at least start a new story by now) who haven't updated in over a month. It's like they've up and vanished off the face of the earth.

Of course I know that's not true. I blame RL and fickle muses. Plus there's always a lull in fics this time of year. It's just funky how there will be these stints where it's good fic after good fic, then stints where the favorite authors seem to have taken a break.

But I'm pretty sure June will see an influx of fics what with it being summer break for most people. I'm also hoping  I'll get my laptop by then, and my copy of Thoughtcrimes, and a working outline for my Supernatural fic, so there will also be an influx of numerous fics from me :)

On a completely different note...

Good crap! They can't kill Charlie. Chaaaarlieeee! He's part of the reason I got into the show. *sniff, sniff* Ah, man, I wanted to cry. Stupid one-eyed guy. At least Rosseu and her daughter were reunited, and Jack beat the crap out of Ben, and Hurly got to be the hero (yay Hurly!), and Locke's alive. That was the most violent, twisted, intense, sickest season finale of them all. I'm totally looking forward to next season... if Charlie somehow comes back to life. If not, then I'll be watching with less enthusiasm. Oh, when Arron started crying after Charlie drowns *sniffles*.

*nods* I've noticed that depressing lack of reading material at FF lately, as well. Were it not for the handful of tasty ficlets posted weekly at LJ, I'd be banging my head for want of stories (well, I am, but I'd be banging my head more ;-)).

Very true. I kind or rely on other fics to help motivate me to write. Not that it's necessary but it helps, and I tend to write less when I don't have anything to read and get me in the mood. LJ has been helping with that.

I was thinking the same thing last night when I went to FF. Nothing caught my eye at all. Come on Winter (or your Summer) break!

It's like the good fics have been dwindling and dwindling until there is nothing left. I've been mostly rereading stuff, which isn't bad, but I do long for continuations and something knew. Come on, RL, back off already!

I've been planning the next chapter for some time now, I just haven't had the motivation to write it, but I'm getting there.
