Okay, so I'm not usually big into jumping in on doing memes unless one really latches onto my fancy, and wasn't planning on taking part in the eight Days of Happy one. Then thought "You know? I really do need to focus on the positive, more. So, what the heck, I'll give it a try." I'm usually a very positive person, but lately negativety has been trying to suck me in and, frankly, I'm sick of it. So here it goes.
1. It's spring! Finally! Sunshine, warm weather, robins and it won't be long until it's summer, yay! I love summer. I don't even care how hot it can get because I'd rather be sweating than freezing my butt off. I can't stand the cold unless there's snow, and even then my tolerance isn't much. Plus summer is a time for doing things: getting out there, going to new places, seeing people we haven't seen in a while, etc. And so much is supposed to happen this summer - the big family renunion (as in cousins, uncles, etc.) And family we haven't seen for a while coming to visit (like my sister who live in Washington. If they're able to, that is). Summer is my happy season :D
2. This picture, which I'd already rec'd in gen rec but seriously can't get enough of. It's just so gorgeous and sweet and really makes me wish I could hug it. It ended up being the inspiration behind After: not based on, just inspired.
3. The original fic has really taken off and by the end of the week - sooner, actually - I will have finished two chapters. Two! I was lucky just to get a couple of paragraphs before. And I'm having so much fun with this story: the plot, the characters I've created, the direction it's going. It's one of those that, the more I write, the more everything falls into place. Unlike my last story which seemed to be fighting me every step of the way and going nowhere I liked.
4. Tacos tonight. I love tacos :)
5. My sister got a job. It doesn't pay much, but it's something she enjoys doing and the work experience will be a big benefit for her. Plus she's baby-sitting on the side, which means extra cash. she graduates in May, and her plan is to work while taking classes online, so so far, so good and I'm happy for her :)
6. I finally have a short-story idea that I like and hope to write, soon. I'm not a fan of writing short stories because I can never come up with something that a) doesn't try to turn into a novel and b) that I like. But I really want to have a short story handy to submit to a magazine as it will help me in getting published (it's kind of like having previous job experience if you can get a short story published, or so I've been told).
Wow, that's a lot of happy. Take that negativety! *blows a raspberry at it*
