It happened again. Our phone went dead and I haven't been able to hook up to the Internet for two days. It wasn't so bad, though, as I managed to get a lot of writing done.

For those of you wishing to know, the kitten is fine. It's started going to the bathroom again and has become best buds with my sister's Pomeranian puppy (sp?). Although he might just be trying to nurse on the dog. I always seem to get these mentally defunct cats.

The next chapter to Wayfarers may be a while (hey, I did warn everyone I was writing it at my leisure). I have the next chapter planned, I just need to get around to writing it, but I've been a bit sidetracked by Thoughtcrimes and this other SGA story I started writing (has lots of Shep whump, making it hard to resist). For those of you who knew of my promised 'Shep as an abused slave' fic, I'm putting that on hold to try a different plot that is much more intriguing. The first fic... I don't know, I keep having trouble with it, so thought I would try something else. All requested fics will be posted when they are ready, but I am having trouble with them as well. Heck, I'm having trouble with most of my SGA fics (reasons mentioned in the post where I ranted a lot.)

I'm currently working on a chapter Thoughtcrimes story that I find very relaxing to write. Lots of Brendan whump in it.

I doubt I'll be putting up any stories for the Flashfic dating challenge. I just see that one being full of a lot of het romanc and slash and OMC and OFC lovers and lovers and sex period and... *shudders*. Yeah, not my kind of challenge.

I've been attempting to be an equal opportunity whumper when it comes to my SGA fics, lately, but I think I'm going to focus on Shep-whump only. I needs me some straight-up Shep whump (this does not include all future chapter fics, just one-shots.)

The book rec community I still want to do but haven't set it up yet.

And that is all.

I cringed at the dating flashfic.....I'm not into any ships at all and it just invites I think one of the biggest faults for romantic writing.

Bad fic = silliness, people acting out of character and excuses for pulp sex scenes.

ack

Watching some "Thought Crimes" clips on youtube, so odd to see JF as someone else, but it seems interesting. No luck on torrent yet.

As far as you SGA fic, heh just follow your muse and don't force anything. If you happen to write a one shot, than thats what you do.

100% Shep whump is just what the doctor ordered!

:-P

Kudos to you for not posting a bunch of WIPS, you respect your readers too much to do that and I know Wayfarers is a very unquie situation and you warned people about it, so that doesn't count.

Sounds like a lot, have fun writing.

There was only one good romance story I read, and that's because the romance wasn't heavy or an intrigal part of the plot, it was just there, very subtle, but enough to create a powerful ending. But best of all, no sex.

But I can't remember what the story was called *sulks*.

Other than that exception, all romances make me cringe. I hate all the kissy-kissy, sensual details and how some romances are nothing more than an excuse for a pornographic scene.

I think we all know first hand the frustration of WIPs, especially ones the author decides to abandone. I refuse to do that to readers (although I did with one story in another fandom. Bad me!)

No internet for two days? Ouch. I feel your pain. It's good that you got some writing done, though- I'm horrible about that, constantly abandoning it to use the internet. And then I can't work on it if I'm reading any story, because then I'll unconsciously try to work in parts of that other plot into mine, and I really don't want to do that, so I'm trying to only read fanfic when I'm not going to be working on any of my stories. *makes face*

I have that same problem. It used to be that reading fics helped motivate me to write. Not they motivate me to write but not the stuff I'm supposed to be working on.

I've read a bit about Thoughtcrimes and am totally intrigued with it, but can't find it anywhere! Do you have it on DVD? Do you know where I can find a copy that will play on an American DVD player? I'm dying to see it. The ones for sale on Amazon all say they're for the UK only.

What I did was order one of the ones available at Amazon, then sent it to this place someone told me about where they'll convert it from a region 2 DVD (Europe) to a region 1 (US).

Here be the company's site if you want to consider it.

http://www.world-import.com/conversion.htm

It was really easy. Or you can just buy a multi-regional DVD player (but converting the DVD is cheaper.)

Thanks for the info! I'll look into this.

Yaaaay Thoughtcrimes!! *lovesloves* Mucho luck with the fics. It's really annoying when you have all the words in your head and yet they refuse to come out properly when you go to write them down. *gives you cookie* Hang in there and whump away ^__^

I refuse to give up on any fic, including the one I havne't updated in two years. But the muses have gone fickle, especially with all the frustrations that have been going on.

Glad that you’re back and very excited you’re writing Thoughtcrimes! When I read ‘equal opportunity whumper’ I felt a bit down but then I read on that you’re focussing on Shep-whump and I brightened hehe.

I'm generally a shep whumper, and even in the equal-opportunity stuff he still gets the brunt of it. But most of my past stories have been totally shep-centered with very little of the team. I'm 'kind of' going back to that, but more along the lines of having Shep get whumped and Ronon or Teyla or even Beckett helps him instead of McKay. Though I like McKay's character on the show, I find myself kind of sick of him at the moment. I have no idea why and I doubt it'll last, but after this one current fic I'm working on, I'll probably be writing him less for a time.

Yeah I've found that a lot of fics are Sheppard and McKay focussed. I've read a few Shep fics from Teyla's point of view that I've enjoyed. It would be good to read some Shep whump fics that have people other than McKay help him. Such fics would be interesting in themselves because of the different ways Shep would react to other people as opposed to McKay with all the snark (though I don't mind the snark at all).
