Movie Review - Doom

Finaly got to see Doom on TV. which, really, is the only way to watch it if you have gore issues - edit, edit, edit, edit, yeah;)

Really, all I have to say about this movie is:

Karl Urban, mmmmmmmmmm *drools* Karl Urban bleeding and hurt and getting pounded on by the Rock. double mmmmmmmmm *drools some more* Karl Urban pounding back and kicking mutant butt, triple mmmmmmmmm *floods house with drool*

Why is it my favorite boys are never in enough moives? When does Star Trek come out! I want more Karl!

And if anyone knows of Doom: the Movie related fanfic centered around Reaper getting his butt handed to him and that is not het or slash or a crap fest, please, please, please point me to it. Please? I needs more Reaper whump :)

I loved DOOM.........
Was sorry they did not do more with it
later. I liked the fact that John and Samantha were the only ones standing when it was over.
It reminded me of Alien vs. Predator where Alexa kicked the butt of the face hugging queen. It felt good to see her survive.
OK here it comes, but you knew it would,

Joe in an action film like DOOM.......
BTW speaking of Karl, I understand he was ticked off when Jackson cut most of his scenes in LOTR.....Eomer was suppose to be at Helm's Deep but Jackson ignored that, but the scenes that Karl was ticked off were others......
What did you think of him in Chronicles of Riddick????

Doom was excellent and I so loved Karl in it :D

Yeah, I think in the book Eomer was at Hlem's Deep, but I can't remember. Eomer had a lot more involvement in the books than movies.

I liked him in CoR, his doubts, the way he was manipulated by his wife. I wish they would do a sequel, as i would love to see the direction his character takes.

Karl was so bent out of shape when Jackson felt compelled to drop his footage on the floor so he would have more time for the 'hobbits'
I believe I have stated on LJ how I feel about them, so will not bore you with the details........
Sean Bean apparently was treated same way......
I have anxiety attacks about the films now especially because Jackson has his sticky fingers all over them...initially it was Del Torro and I felt there might be some hope, but not sure anymore with Jackson involved now.

Did you see Pan's Labyrinth?
If you have not, you should. It is why I felt Del Torro might have been able to something fresh and innovative with the new LOTR films, especially the bridge between The Hobbit and FOTR.

You NEED to do what I did a long time ago. Access your local library and if they don't have whatever, have them do an inter library loan......They send for it through a program that searches for copies not only through local library systems, but long distance, e.g.
I wanted to see Family Album and our three county systems did not have it. So, I asked them to do an inter library loan. A copy came from Nebraska
Later, when SGAfan did a video called Legacy and I asked her what was the music, she said it was Transformer SCORE.
Our three local counties had nothing but soundtrack so they did a inter library loan and located one in Westwood IL for me........
It is absolutely great.

Karl's got a few films in the works most notably vampire movie Priest, in which he plays the main bad guy.

I actually thought Doom wasn't half bad, all things considered. As game adaptations go its way better than most of them turn out.

I wish they had left his Eomer character intact but Jackson felt the need to leave it on the editing floor.....There was too little of him in LOTR IMO...........

Yeah, I was quite pleasently surprised as I went in with rather low expectations. And I like being able to see him in a main character role rather than secondary.

Then I can heartily opinion that the film "Pathfinder" is very good for that. I will warn you that its not a fantastc movie in itself. The story is a tad wobbly and the "vikings" are just plain hollywood myth. But you do have Karl Urban with a sword dressed in native american gear (loin cloth and leggings) doing what he does best.. Taking it like a good little whumper.

Star Trek (11) streets on November 17 (baring last minute datecchanges) and comes in a single disc DVD, a 2 disc DVD w/digital copy & a 3 disc Blu-ray w/digital copy.

Yay! But, wow, that's a long time since it came out sometime around May. Is it just me or are movies taking longer to come out on DVD?

Actually a lot of the studios are releasing thier 'blockbusters' a little closer to the year-end holidays this year.

They're sorta have this idea that because of the economy folks are going hold off thier gift buying in hope of retailer 'deals' and the studios want 'their' release to still have that 'New Release' punch.
