So, I kind of called it I suppose - Danny did get shot but didn't die. So at least we got a twist and I get to keep my Danny :D

Being normally wary when it comes to canon pairings, it says a lot that I really like Danny and Lindsey together, and loved how supportive she was of him. It was so sweet! I love, period, how the show writes Danny - an all around good guy who takes responsibility for his action, and for all his tough attitude, he's actually a softy. I just hope the show doesn't ruin all that, as other shows have been known to do. Pairings-come-true in canon are not happily ever after, and tend not to fair well for the sake of drama.

What the heck was with the beginning and everyone sleeping around. It felt kind of cheap - people died, got hurt, so everyone else finds comfort through sex. Yeah, nice way to start things off... not. And Adam and Steall, seriously, big resounding WTF times two! That was just... wierd. And kind of pointless unless the show plans to go somewhere with it later on. And what the heck was going on with Flak? All the flirting? Maybe it was just me and the way I was looking at things, but it felt like something was up - Flak forcing himself to move on from Angel's death? Or is the show trying to bring his character down a notch?

The mystery was good, but them solving it felt a bit anti-climatic. I guess because last season sort of build it up to seem like he had something to do with jerk reporter guy (can't remember his name at the moment.) But, instead, it turns out to be the act of a bunch of stupid kids.

Then Danny moves his foot, and the ten percent chance of rain that Lindsey had told him about had happened - very sweet :D

All in all, a pretty good start to the new season, and the previews they've show so far look promising. As far as a CSI crime shows go, New York tends to lean toward the fluffy side, but they do have pretty interesting mysteries. My hope for this year is that they'll tone down on being character focused like that were last year (the whole Stella/coin arch got old pretty fast), give each character some good screen and story time, and tone down the fluff just a tad.

I actually liked that it was a comedown, a little. My roomie and I joke that on CSI: NY it's never just a robbery, it's never just a murder, it's always something BIG and TERRORISM and INTERNATIONAL CONNECTIONS and CHARACTER BACKSTORY (with bonus kids). It was oddly nice that this ended up being just screwed up kids. Because most crime is just that random and reasonless.

But the ending, with Danny moving his foot and the rain: awesome! I laughed, I cried, I hugged my afghan. Yay!

That's true. It was a bit of a twist that it wasn't some conspiracy after all, just some stupid kids. And I do love when stupid kids get theirs :D

I do love the Danny and Lindsay relationship- the two of them are really cute together (I really hope the show doesn't break them up now that they're really together. Give some other characters drama! You've already paralyzed Danny, let their relationship stay!)

Yeah, i have no clue why Adam and Stella slept together or Flack was flirt- especially since he was all "I just sit around the house all day thinking of Jess" to Mac when asking to be allowed back on the case. (the Danny and Don friendshipper in me was really hoping to see the two of them hanging out together in their forced leaves...boo!)

I liked the stupid kid line- with it being NYC (and more importantly CSI:NY), my mind sort of automatically flashes to terrorism. But it was just dumb guys- the same people who committ most crimes.

The Danny/Lindsey angle has grown on me. I'm not a fan of canon relationships that work because writers like to screw it up for drama. So though I enjoy it, I'm still somewhat wary. As long as they put the relationship in the background - not focus on it for any stories - then all should be well. It's when a show focuses on the relationship even long after it's worked out that you have to start worrying.

The Adam/Stella thing was wierd. Flack - I think that guy's heading toward a bad place.

Yeah, the dumb kid thing was different. I guess I felt things moved a bit fast. I don't know, there was just something weird about it to me, I don't know why. I guess because so many of their cases have been pretty heavy and involved and this one was all, "oh, a bunch of dumb kids did it." *shrugs*

I didn't come in until the credits, so I don't know if I missed something beforehand, or if it was just a recap. But yeah, I thought it was a pretty good episode. I was watching it live though - something I don't do very often, and I couldn't catch everything. I think I need to watch it again. I didn't see that Danny moved his foot at the end, for example, and the rain connection went right over my head.

The Stella/Adam stuff - yeah, wasn't thrilled about that. There were a couple of times last year where they kinda hinted that he might have a crush on her, and it made me wonder if they might go there, but I was no, they wouldn't actually do that. Guess I was wrong. :( I love both Stella and Adam a lot, but not together - he's way too young for her for one, and for another more important point, isn't she like, his boss?

The Flack flirting and drinking I just took as him trying to drown his sorrows/guilt. Not typical for him, but neither was executing Angel's killer. I think Flack's going to kind of be in a bad place this season.

The Stella/Adam stuff was surreal and felt kind of shallow. I'm guessing they're going to go somewhere with it, but if they do I can already assume it's not anywhere good. But, then, they might surprise me, I don't know.

"The Flack flirting and drinking I just took as him trying to drown his sorrows/guilt."

That's what I was wondering, especially when Mac look at Flack while he was flirting with that blond woman. That right there said that the show was doing more than trying to portray Flack as a player.

This was the first time EVER that I've liked the Danny/Lindsay relationship. I like Anna Belknap but I've never liked Lindsay much at all. I felt like she really stepped up here and it was the first time I felt like she was the strong one in the relationship and that she really understood what Danny needs.

Is it wrong of me that I wanted him to NOT be able to move his foot just yet? I should change my name to angstjunkiecrow.

I agree with tringasolitaria - Flack's in a very bad place right now and I think he's going to go downhill fast. Even Mac noticed the way he was flirting with the one woman at the crime scene.

This was a good start to the season, after so much of last season was disappointing. I think they've handled Danny's issues well with being paralyzed - still angry, still fighting, but not over the top and not the only focus of the episode. And he has trauma hair. Hopefully there will be more low-key episodes this year. I like getting backstory and personal involvement, but I want more case-oriented episodes and fewer drama-llama episodes.

The Danny/Lindsey pairing has definitely grown on me. Like you, I didn't like Lindsey. I was disappointed when she and Danny got together, was really disappointed when Lindsey ended up pregnant and said no to Danny's marriage proposal. It was when they did finally get married that I started to see their relationship in a more positive light, and this episode has solidified it a lot more. And I hope they show more of Lucy - I like babies, and Danny with a little baby is just too adorable :D

My first assumption with Flack going home with that woman at the bar was that the show was trying to push just how much Flack is a player, and trying to cast him in a bad light. Mac watching Flack flirt then gave me the feeling that something else is going on. I agree - Flack is in a bad place, and we're going to see much more of that bad place this season until the breaking point.

Danny looked perfect for a guy recovering from an injury - scruffy, a little sickly. My mom and I are both in agreement that he looks like he lost some weight (either because he's that devoted to his character, or RL issues made it happen).

Yes to more case-oriented eps. the character-focused eps were really starting to get on my nerves.

I didn't like the apparent one-night stand thing that they did with Adam and Stella, either. I've so far adored Danny/Lindsay, though, and I loved it in this epi.

I suspect where they're going with Flack is that he's going to be spiraling in self-destructive grief, culminating in the gang having to bail him out of something and/or having to smack him out of it.

Danny moving his foot at the end was a little too cliche for me to fully appreciate the moment. I am glad though that they don't seem to be planning to leave him in the wheelchair.

The one-night stand was just... weird. And I've officially lost any like I had for Stella. But this ep also sealed my like for Danny/Lindsey. I'm still wary about the writers trying to screw it up in the future, but for now it's very cute :)

I'm guessing this is to be a Flack season, then. I'm interested to see where they go with it, but nervous too.

I was actually nervous that Danny wouldn't be able to move his foot, that the writers would drag his injury out, makes us wonder, build the angst and all that. Yeah, it was a tad cliche, but at least we know he's getting better :D I wonder if they'll rush the recovery so that he's back on his feet the next episode, or drag it out.

I always enjoy a focused Mac, and when he shows emotion, it's a bonus. I know he likes Danny, and he's always steering Danny in a less destructive direction. And I must confess, seeing Stella get all huffy about being left out was nice. Too much face time, that one.

If I see another Stella-focused episode, I will scream. There. I said it. The coin thing was silly really, and woulda been more believable with a different character. It looked like a reason to go to Greece and have Stella speak her native language. Whatever.

And the WTF moment with Adam didn't shock me like the Grissom/Sara moment. I'm still like 'huh?' over that. I think Adam would be fun and kinky in bed, but that's just my opinion. LOL

I loved seeing Danny and Mac working together. Mac is such a big brother to Danny, IMO. And hurt Danny and Mac coming along to keep him safe - *happy sigh*

Yes, no more Stella-focus! It drove me nuts. I hate it when shows get that kind of focused with a character. A few episodes here and there scattered throughout - okay. But the Stella-coin storyline felt like it would.Not.End.

I think the shock for me with Stella and Adam was more Stella, as I don't see her doing something like that, and it felt like it came out of nowhere. Had they built up to it a little, okay. As is, it seemed strange.

To be honest, I think they're trying to establish Stella's not a cliché. The guy she dated and killed was an artist, played so dark and lovely by Ed Quinn. The people she flirts with, (Kerr Smith, or Ian Sommerholder, I can't remember; they look alike!), it's clear TPTB are making it seem she likes the pretty and the brooding. It is so obvious she should really be dating a cop. (PTB: Please watch Angel Eyes for reference. Thank you.)

Oh, and she's not allowed to come near Donald Flack, Jr. He is MINE! I'll cut you! I swear!

Probably. It still feels a bit out of the blue to me, though.

"Oh, and she's not allowed to come near Donald Flack, Jr. He is MINE! I'll cut you! I swear!"

*snorfle* Flack's all yours as long as I can have Danny *shoves Lindsey away*

*rigs boobytrap for the Lindsay* All yours!

I should really be concentrating on my Big Bang story, but I'm afraid it's not going to happen....
