Favorite story this year: My original story, as I liked how it turned out despite the frustration of writing it. For fanfic, I would have to say Safe House, because I really enjoyed writing it (even though it was an AU). It was a neat way to explore the characters and a fun challenge to put them in a different universe while still keeping them, well, in character.

Most popular story this year, in my opinion: Good question. I'm not really sure.

Most fun story: Again, Safe House, but also Dogs of War since I feel I don't write Shep in military mode often enough.

Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: A Wing and a Prayer, because it was a season one AU where I had to pretty much rewrite the premiere, which meant have to think more carefully about the characters.

Hardest story to write: My original story, because it's an original story. In fanfic, A Wing and a Prayer. I almost ended up really hating it.

Biggest disappointment: A Walk in the Woods. I love that story, but it didn't turn out quite like I'd wanted it to. I may fix it up later on.

Biggest surprise: My original story, because "OMG! I don't hate it!" In fanfic, Breakfast. I was quite surprised how well-received it was, since it deals with Sheppard and starvation.

Overall: I write a lot :/ Though the momentum slowed later on in the year what with the original fic and Big Bang eating up most of my attention (and killing most of my muses). It was quite an up and down year for me, and there were times I thought I was losing all interest in writing fanfiction, especially for SGA. Apparently, interest is still going strong.

However, my hope for this year is to write more original stuff - short stories and eventually the next book to my original story once it's outlined. Does this mean less fanfic from me? Probably fewer one-shots, but also because I want to write some longer SGA stories, maybe a Dr. Who story once I come up with a plot I like, to help clean the mental pallet (so to speak) until I'm ready to write book two of the original story. I would also like to have some original short stories to send out to magazines and such, and get my toe through the door of the publishing world.

And that's my 2009 fic review :D

Well that was a whole lot of great stories to read. You do the whump tales sooooo well. I know before I read your stories that I am going to like them. You have a good range from tales from wonderfully long stories to very short reflections. So there is always something to suit the time I have available. I've grown to like AU's after reading several really good ones this year. Safe House was memorable for many reasons, but I loved the ending. And I have already noted how much I enjoyed your dragons (although, duh! I accidentally posted my feedback anonymously.) Corvax has really stuck with me and has actually worked his way into the little tales I play with in my head.

Your musings here and there and prompts have sparked more ideas than I care to count. I have a significant number of story sketches based on these on my computer which I hope to write this year. It's never to late to take up a good prompt.

And will we be seeing any of these fics from you sometime soon ;) *nudge, nudge*

The hand injury really did in the last of my writing at the end of the year. So, I am busily catching on up my secret santa before the deadline. I also had another entry to do for the LFWS. Once both are over, I have a long fic that I really want to finish up and several of those story sketches that I mentioned. A few are close to being finished. I actually have a 2000 word one on my screen at the moment. It needs a small bit of editing. I am kind of obsessive (although not necessarily particularly accurate) about proofreading. I am debating how much polish needs to go into a piece before I post on the challenge board.

I envy your motivation. My motivation for writing fanfic is still a bit rocky. I have a ton of ideas but few really take hold enough for me to want to sit down and write them out.
