kriadydragon: (Shep icon 3)
Now my turn to share a prompt idea for anyone in need of one.

Sheppard, on earth or another planet, is beat up and put into a crate to be shipped to a buyer who wants him for his ATA gene. One of the team, an original character, or someone from SG-1 finds him in a warehouse and has to get him out. But besides being beat up John is also dehydrated, possibly drugged and so confused, and the warehouse is heavily guarded.

Oh, I love it. I hope someone writes this. I'm trying to close my eyes to prompts though because I have a few fics to finish off at the moment.

Edited to add - Now that I think of it, the one that is closest to being finished (just needs some heavy editing now) actually came from a prompt you posted months ago. I'm not saying which one though. *rubs hands with an evil grin* I'd be done way sooner if my computer hadn't taken to typing waaaaaaay slower than me. I've done every clean up and scan possible. Somethings take longer than others. I could make a cup of tea while waiting for a typed em dash to appear on my screen. Okay, enough complaining - back to the story. I want to finish the edit by the weekend.

Could it be your keyboard that's having issues? We've had keyboards give us trouble in all kinds of wierd ways. With my current laptop there are times when I'll type J and the cursor will jump to another area of the page. It drives me crazy.

Well, now that you mention it, there was a day in which the contents of a can of Pepsi ended up on, in, under and around the keyboard. But that was a couple of months ago and I had forgotten about that. Still, the first glitch I noticed was in the keyboard. The shift key and caps lock were taking forever to turn off and then it went downhill. Now the mouse is having similar problems so I never though of the keyboard. Maybe the mouse issue is just because it is waiting for the keyboard to catch up. There are more than enough spare keyboards lying around here though. I'll install another one tomorrow. It's worth a try.

Our computers have always fallen apart a piece at a time - keyboard, mouse, monitor, hard drive. I'm giving some serious thought into getting a new laptop. My current one works fine and I'm happy with it, but it's a used model and if it goes, it'll end up taking a lot of important documents with it. I have said documents backed up on disks, but I would feel better if I had another computer to store everything on.

And I'll also admit to wanting a computer I can play games on :D This one I can't.

I think keyboards are slow to break down, and go one key at a time. Yet another reason I want to get another laptop as sometimes certain keys will go on a temporary fritz - the shift key being one of them.

Hey

delurking to say thanks ... for the prompt. For the first time in my life, I actually thought - yeah, that would be a great fic. And then I went and wrote it. Can't say it'll be any good, but it was the fastest thing I've ever written

So thanks :)
