It is done. I have committed a community.

The [livejournal.com profile] collarcorner, an all-gen comment-fic community. Since it's still under development, so to speak, and in need of members (and what with NaNo going on) the first round of comment fic will not begin until December. I could really use everyone's help (well, everyone into White Collar or who knows people into White Collar) to help me spread the word.

I could also use a mod or two to help me out if anyone is willing, especially anyone who knows how to specially format journal styles as I would really like the site to look more, well, White Collar focused. Just let me know if you'd be willing to help and I'll add you as a moderator.

And also let me know what you think about the guidelines for the comm, if they're clear or need more clarification or what have you. I have a welcome post up where you can pose questions or concerns if you have any.

I am totally ignorant when it comes to White Collar, other than
its basic story line which seems to encompass an earlier series,
It Takes A Thief,
HOWEVER I do wish you success in this new community.
:-)

When White Collar first started I actually had very mild interest in it as the previews didn't really do it justice. I watched a couple of episodes, wasn't able to really get into it. Then, suddenly - wham! - I found myself loving the show to pieces. But, then, that's the story of me and most of the TV shows I love (if it wasn't for my need for a sci-fi show in which to use a certain plot, I would have never gotten into SGA. That story later became Wrong End of a Leash).

White Collar is a really fun and cute show. When they first previewed it I thought it was going to be all sex and obnoxiously stoic people who think they're cool but they're not. It ended up being to total opposite. All though it took me a whole season and a half to realize this :P

I think the community guidelines look good overall, but I think you might run into some trouble with the rule against "explicit violence".

Your community, your prerogative, of course, but that seems to limit your community to a much narrower genre than 'gen'. It sounds like you want to exclude h/c or whump, and if you do, you should make that clearer.

Good point. I've made the change and took explicit violence out all together. I was going to define explicit violence as horror-movie/blood-and-guts style violence but felt that could still prove tricky as well, so just removed it all together.
