Fic Exchange

I would like to do a fic exchange with anyone willing (i.e. who has time and is not currently swamped with too many other fics to count).

I would like a story (preferably a one-shot) featuring a protective Rodney and wounded and/or sick John. Maybe Rodney protecting John from crazy natives or Rodney standing up for John because someone thinks he's weak or making fun of him for being helpless. John is sick and trying to recover but people keep bugging him, so Rodney chases them away. Just something along the lines of Rodney showing his caring for John in a non-slashy kind of way.

In return, I will write you a one-shot of your choosing (just no slash, romance, or Rodney whump unless I can whump John too.) You can even have a specific plot in mind.

This is a kind of first come, first serve deal. So if you decide to participate it has to happen. Say yes, then give me what you want for a fic.

If you wanted to participate but were too late, or wanted to but have too many fics as is, don't worry. I'll probably do this again since there is always going to be some type of fic or other I would like to see written, and I'm always up for writing a one-shot myself, but am currently without ideas for one-shots. I'd write the next chapter to Wayfarers but I'm still working it out in my head.

That's cool. I really wanted to leave this more open for anyone to take part in, but I was afraid there would be stepping on toes in terms of plots (since it is so specific.) But since you are first and not too many have said yes, then no rush. It doesn't even have to be a long story.

I think this was more a way for me to get one-shot ideas. When the bigger fics get frustrating I like to write one-shots as a way of taking a short break.

It's not too late. I should have said something like the first three people. I think the prompt can spawn many ideas for all but I was still worried about wrtiers worrying over ending up with the same ideas as someone else... did that make sense?

I'd like a really dark story, preferably a torture story. It can include anyone else you'd like (or no one else).

I don't think I'm going to get many other responses, so there's no deadline and you can go with this prompt if you want. I will put up another prompt in the future, though. There's all kinds of stories I would love to see written.

Mmmmm... I say do what Sheppard would do - flip a coin. But to be more helpful than that, I'll go ahead and say sick. We could always do with having more sick Sheppard stories out there.

I'll give you one once I begin yours to be fair. I think I might wrap up the one (three) shot thats been giving me hell this weekend and then might be able to flesh out more of the idea in my head.

Now normally I try to do vague, give lots of creative wiggle room but these might be too specific and if you don't want to do it, I'm fine with it. I'm also posting two suggestions that way you have a choice.

No rush on this. I'm on page 8 of yours and its got a ways to go...so I'm not sure when it'll be posted, but its the only thing I'm working on.

A-

I've always wanted to see an AU version to “Vengeance”. One where its Sheppard that Michale captures and straps to the table for the iratus bug. Even some whump after/before they get away in the eppy.

Bonus points if you delve into the aftermath and the bug paranoia Sheppard has to have by now that we never get too much of a glimpse of.

B-

I'd like to see something where we see Lorne's respect, admiration for Sheppard as his CO....with Lorne having to help an injured Sheppard..could be anywhere. Doesn't have to be a serious injury.

Bonus points if you work Teyla in it with just the three of them that way you have more interactions to work with.

Hmmm... I'm probably going to have to go with B and not by choice. I only know Vengeance from spoilers and a few pictures but haven't seen the episode.

Has it not aired where you live? Just curious now..its a good eppy, once again though it could have had some great whump in it.

I live for spoilers, actually. We don't have cable and syndication is a season behind. So spoilers satiate me, plus prepare me so I don't end up getting let down by an episode. I hate getting momentarily depressed over a TV show.

I went with B and it is written. And I quite enjoyed writing it. You should be seeing it posted soon.

Our connection is so slow it takes almost thirty minutes just to download a preview. And we can't get broadband because of where we live or some crap like that.

Thus my need for spoilers. They help make me more patient.
