So my sister comes home and tells me there's a newborn kitten outside the door to the garage. So I'm thinking "Yay! Little Miss Sita's had her kittens!" I wait until new momma gets her newborn and puts it with the rest. I go out there to check on them but all I see is a mound of fur under the plastic covering the shelves. I congratulate Sita and leave her in peace. Then I go back out after filling the water dish and...

There's Miss Sita, sitting on the floor, but the mound of fur remains under the plastic.

Okay, so... not Sita. Not Sita's babies. Not even a cat I know:/

The thing is, in order to get rid of the opossum I've only been putting out enough food for Sita and her momma, and so far, it seems to have worked as there has been no sign of the opossum. Nope. Instead, it's another stray cat, one who I've never seen before, and she's had babies. Where the heck did she even come from?

And is Sita even pregnant? I'm seriously starting to wonder. But, if she is, she's picked a choice spot for having her babies. Heck, it was where she was born. Just call our garage the cat maternity ward ;)

Heh, my cat Bug we found out in the barn where my sister keeps her horses. The momma ahd dropped her and my mom brought her home for me to take care of. Bug was only a day old at the time. I didn't think she would live, but she did and now she's a total momma's girl;)

my cat Kia was wonderful and then Easter two years ago, she went nuts. Really nuts. I had to take her to the vet to see if there was a medical reason behind it. She was fine and he recommended a cat shrink.... I said no... We'll take her as she is.

She seems better now. She used to draw blood from me...

that's scary there's a opossum there. They're meat eaters and higher on the food chain than our cats...

I think the opossum may have moved on to more food-filled pastures. Even if it was still around, it's not a big opossum. Momma could probably take it on easily.

Aww, the kitties just know you're a softie. I guess they figure if you can't get in to the Humane Society, they'll just come to you. *g*

the last cat that was sitting by my door had A LOT of psychological issues
e.g. would rub and rub and rub against you but if you tried to pet her she
would bite and scratch..........
She was a darling cat, not sure how old but not fully grown, but really messed up mentally.
