Cleaning cat cages is hard. Cleaning cat cages covered in snot is really hard. Especially those bottom cages. I can haz working spine, plz? I work in the feline isolation room at the Humane Society, where they keep all the sick cats. Not a lot of cages but quite the ordeal to clean. If you're looking for a way to get some exercise into your life, volunteer to clean cages somewhere, especially iso cages, where you have to wear protective medical gear and gloves to prevent cross-contamination. I was soaked with sweat by the time I was done. But at least the cats were good about it, no trying to get out or trying to cuddle, though they were in desperate need of some loving.

Adopt a shelter cat because they are so gosh-darn sweet!

It was also quite ironic, with today being a severe weather day. I ended up staying past my usual three hours and by the time I headed home, here came the bad weather. I knew that was going to happen :/

And on an entirely different, completely-has-nothing-to-do-with-HS note, I'm hopelessly addicted to BBC's Top Gear. Odd show for me to get into seeing as how I usually try to avoid driving whenever possible. But it's just such a hilarious show - no complicated plots, no over-the-top drama, just three guys being spontaneous and ridiculous to the tenth degree and I love it to pieces. It's so funny the shows we get into. My mom loves Hoarders, my sister-in-law loves biggest loser and my oldest sister likes those pawn shop shows.

I heard a report on Weather Channel that Kansas took a hit, Lakeland???, and wondered if anywhere near Wichita........
I am still eying Sherwood Cat Shelter.......especially since my friend sent me shots of Dusty......I sent those to you........tiny and adorable gray.
What is Top Gear about?
Along that same line of reality shows, I love Parking Wars.......it is such a hoot.....
A&E has some really good stuff.......

We got some rain and lightning but nothing too bad. But there were quite a few places hit pretty bad, not tornadoes but wind, hail and debris.

Top Gear is a reality show all about cars. It's a really fun show to watch, even if you're not into cars, because the hosts do all kinds of kooky things.

What night is it on? Is it A&E??
Maybe I will check it out..........
Thanks!!

It's on BBC America if you have it (and should not be confused with the one on the History Channel, which is the American one. I haven't watched that one so I don't know what it's like). Here in the midwest they show reruns at five and six PM. I have no idea if/when new eps start but they're supposed to be on Mondays around eight or nine, depending on where you live, of course ;)

I have extended cable and it does not include BBC America
No wonder I am not familiar with it

BBC's Top Gear is so awesome!!! I love them all and I watch for the chemistry between the hosts ( and learn a lot at the same time). It's an award winning show and some of their specials to the Antarctic and Vietnam is some of the best television out there.

My husband owns Hammond's biography and reading about his recovery from his severe head injury during that horrible wreck is just mind boggling.

I'm so glad there are people like you who support animal shelters. Bravo for volunteering!

I started watching it because I was bored and it was on, and the next thing I knew I was hooked. My mom gets quite a kick out of me liking it since one would think it a show I would have no interest in. But it's just so much fun and the guy's are so hilarious. I totally sympathize with James May for driving slow and getting crap for it, poor guy ;) (driving makes me nervous, so I tend to drive under the speed limit more than over it) And I find Hammond adorable (him and Top Gear dog).

Oh, wow. When was that? (It didn't happen on the show, did it? They do some pretty crazy stuff, so...)

I love working at the Humane Society. I'm not too fond of driving there but it's so worth it. The work they have me do always leaves me feeling like I've accomplished something. Plus the cats. Mustn't forget the cats. That is just heaven for me :D

It is amazing he's alive. After his hospital stay when he as allowed to go back home, if he went out alone, sometimes he forgot where he lived and had his phone programmed to tell him. He was welcomed back on one of the season premiereed but the accident is to be never mentioned again.

The show is fantastic. Awesome stuff.

Oh, double wow :S Thanks for the link. You know, it's interesting because I would sometimes get this impression that Hammond was getting the more tame stunts (like when he drove a truck through a dilapidated trailer house, where as Jeremy drove his truck through a brick wall). I often thought(jokingly) that either Jeremy wanted all the good stunts for himself or they were being careful with Hammond, and wondered if something had happened to make the show careful with Hammond.

So now I have to wonder if maybe they really are being careful with him (or he's being careful with himself) :/

Whatever the case, glad he's okay, now.

I'm glad the HS thing is working, it can be hard if the animals don't get better.

Top Gear??? You Petrol Head! :)

Top Gear??? You Petrol Head! :)

It would explain a lot. I always did love movies with car chase scenes ;)

Andthe Dukes of Hazzard and Knight Rider...right!

More like A-Team, Cannon Ball Run and the Blues Brothers. And, yes, Dukes of Hazzard :D (Knight Rider freaked me out for some reason).

Who was your favourite Cannonball team? mine was Jackie Chan and Jaws from Richard Kiel from the James Bond movies in Cannonball 2.

Oh, wow, it's been so long I can't remember any of the teams :/ I was around five at the time when I watched it.

Rub it in why don't you! :) I was a teenager.

I got both of my adorable sweet kitties through the SPCA so I heartily agree. I'm so glad you've found something so fulfilling to do. There's nothing worse than feeling like you're just going through the motions, wasting time (says the girl at the office playing on LJ).

You're in Kansas, yes? Stay safe. I think most of the nasty stuff is over for a few days. It's supposed to be a nice day here - the sun is shining and the sky is clear. Yay!

Ironically I only had one cat I got from the shelter. The rest of my cats just sort of... happened.

This is why I'm not a fan of spring. The weather is crazy half the time and scary the rest of the time. Tornadoes didn't used to bother me until one started heading toward us right down our street. Now I get twitchy if the wind so much as picks up (I kind of freaked out yesterday coming home when I saw two tiny dust devils and thought they were heralding an actual tornado).
