YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY!!! And agree about more westerns.......... I love them and was so excited to hear Craig had signed on. Bond goes west I heard he was every bit as good as he is as Bond... I have been waiting to see if any of my flist has been to see it. Thank you :-)
I love me a good western and Craig, Ford, and the aliens made it even better :D And the action - oh, man, talking about sitting on the edge of your seat.
I do too and I must admit when I saw the title my eyes rolled but when I saw who had signed on..... :-) However, the critics have not been very kind to the film
Eh, critics, what do they know? Pretty much all the movies I loved the critics didn't. but, then, do critics love anything other than Oscar contenders than no one really goes to see?
Same for me. I often like what they loathe and loathe what they gush about e.g. The Fighter. I believe did a recent journal entry about how much I detested it. It was the most seamy, ugly, foul mouthed, including his sisters, piece of film work that I have seen in sometime. If that is what that part of Boston is like, sad for those people saddled with such dreary, nasty conditions. Only glad I did not pay a dime to see it and same goes for No Country For Old Men or whatever it was called. UGH!!!!!!!!!
I still have no idea if I loved the movie of not (the electricity went out twice during the movie and they couldn't re-start it at the point where the movie cut off, so we had to re-watch large sections of the movie. sort of messed with the flow), but the memory of Daniel Craig in those chaps will live with me forever. Happy times.
When I read that he had signed on for the role, my mind immediately envisioned him in western gear and that is all it took. I love a man in fine 'livery' :P
This movie was not quite what I expected in terms of plot. I was thinking that maybe the aliens were going to be a little more Star Trek-sentient and a little less Alien-monster so there would be room for more interaction and less flat-out shooting. Then again, I never saw the trailer before seeing the movie either. It was still pretty awesome. I do enjoy westerns, and a sci-fi western? I'm definitely there. :)
And I don't normally think of Daniel Craig as all that attractive for whatever reason, but you're right, in this one: chaps, vest, slightly whumped...*drool* =D
