Anyone planning on taking part in NaNo this year? Though I do plan on starting my next novel in November, it's not going to be for NaNo. I'm kind of doing an in between thing, writing along with the NaNo crowd but not actually participating. I want to be able to write this story without the pressure of due dates while at the same time utilize the writing energy that came with participating in NaNo.

It's also not the only project on my table, so I need room - so to speak - to be able to step back from time to time and work on other things.

Still, it should be interesting. Should I not only finish this next story but like what I have, it'll be my third completed novel in... I don't even know how many years any more. And it'll be so nice having one more story I can check off my ever growing list of stories. My ideas are many and it's bothered me to no end that thus far only two of those ideas have been written (and one of those ideas not technically complete since it's a trilogy). It's high time I start whipping these stories out.

I'm not sure yet. I'll see how I feel after I'm done revising my [livejournal.com profile] collarcorner EPIC (which was not how I planned to spend this month). I already have two novels sitting in rough draft stage that could use a good revision, but, like you, I'd also like to get some of these other projects out of my head and onto the page, too.

A friend at work and I are trying to talk each other into doing this, so I'm considering it. I think I may do something similar to what you're doing. I won't officially join, but I may write along with it. I've got two SGA stories and an original story I really want to make some progress on, so I'm thinking of shooting for 50,000 words for that month on any combination of all three of those and see where that takes me. I have so many ideas in my head too! I need to make at least a bit of a dent in that mental list!! :)

I signed up, but it remains to be seen whether I actually accomplish anything.

What happened to the story about the detective, the one who could morph into a dragon at will??
I LOVED him.....reminded me so much of Det Sheppard

I told you. There were issues with the plot and I had to set it aside. There's a good chance I may have to rewrite large chunks of it but I'm not ready to work on it, yet.

I'm thinking of doing the follow-along thing. I have a number of things to finish and would like to get those done rather than start an entirely new project.

My apologies for asking again
I guess I forgot.

That's okay :D And apologies if I came off as a bit snippy. My family has a tendency to "beat a dead horse" when it comes to writing and publishing and certain stories, and I guess it's made me a bit reactive.

I do hope to one day finish that story but for now I had to set it aside.
