Definition of a bad day - Attempting to take the cover of a razor blade and slicing a big chunk out of your thumb and bleeding all over the place. In your haste to stop the bleeding, knocking the rest of the package of razor blades into the toilet. Being in a hurry to make it to an eye appointment in the rain and the fog. Spending a large chunk of money on said eye appointment and a pair of trial contact lenses, and one of the lenses ripping. Sliced thumb causing you pain and making it impossible to do anything.

Definition on a good day - finding out that I don't have to pay a ton of money to learn how to be a vet assistant, I can just be hired as one or do an internship thing and be trained on the job. This is a relief because as much as I wanted to get the training I didn't want to spend all that money on training only for me to still not get a job. Having a contact lens to compare the new lens to and decide if it's something I want. Tamales and chimichangas. Top Gear and cereal. The strays sheltering in our garage actually using the cat litter I set out for them. Getting my Sheppard H/C fic exchange story started and getting five pages in. Getting more done on the new original fic.

ETA: Developing the ability to write two stories at the same time, on the same day, even. I work a little on one story, take a break, then work a little on the other. I don't know if this would work if it was two original fic, but it works with two fanfic or with fanfic and an original fic, so who knows.

Sounds like the good out weighed the bad. I've had days like this. Too many to count.

*BIG HUGS*

I think what's interesting is how bad a seemingly bad day starts out. It's like a domino affect of bad. First I slice my thumb, then the razors fall in the toilet, then I have to hurry to get to my appointment so I don't have time for breakfast, then my eye exam costs more than it usually does and finally the torn contact.

It was just one thing after another. Then... it isn't.

Hi, you don't know me, but I'm a big fan of your White Collar fics. Anyway, I just stopped by to say that I hope your thumb is better and that you get the chance to be a vet assistant (an internship would probably better than just being trained for the job). I'm on my fifth year of Veterinary Medicine right now, and it really is a wonderful and fulfilling line of work.
Hope your luck improves and tomorrow starts as a good day and stays that way...

Thank you so much:D

I was actually talking with my sister one day about the good old days when all you needed was an apprenticeship to learn a skill. I want to work in the Veterinary field because I love animals so I know it's something I would enjoy doing and be good at, but my ultimate career choice is to become a published writer. So spending money on something that I didn't plan on making a career really wasn't sitting right with me.

You really never know what the future might bring. If you get the opportunity to learn something new and don't have to spend a lot of money learning it, then that's a definite plus. You'll do something that you'll enjoy doing and make some money from doing it (and along the way you can work towards your ultimate goal as a writer!)

Yikes! That does sound like an awful day! Just...ouch, about the razor blade accident. :s

Thank God for those good days. XD That's great about the vet assistant training. And I've just recently been discovering how to write more than one story at a time, myself. *fistpump*

What I hate about injuries like that is that they take so long to heal that you wearing Band Aids for what feels like forever, and I hate wearing Band Aids.

I love that I can write two stories at once (and find it interesting since I'm not much of a multi-tasker). It certainly makes writing stories with a deadline a lot less stressful.

yikes! I hope your thumb is OK! Isn't it annoying how the bad things kid of come in bunches?

But at least its good news on the job front! :)

It's like bad breeds in a single moment, popping out more bad seconds after the initial bad :P

The job thing is still pending, especially since I have the worst luck when it comes to having job goals. Heck, I couldn't even get a job at Wal-Mart or Dillons. But I'll be happy even with an internship, because what I need is job experience, so even if nothing pans out with a vet job I'll at least have working experience.

Experience is always helpful! Good luck :)
