What movie quotes do you find yourself using a lot, whether in your head or out loud?
Mine are:
There is no *insert thing here*, there is only Zuel (Ghost Busters)
That word, I do not think it means what you think it means (The Princess Bride)
Potato, tomato, potato, tomato (Megamind. This one is always getting stuck in my head, I don't know why.)
Come, Patsy! (Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I like to use this one on the pets)
"I am Arthur, King of the Britains."
"King of the who?"
"The Britains"
"Who're the Britains?"
"We all are, we are all Britains, and I am your king."
"Well I didn't vote for you."
"You don't vote for kings!" (Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I can't watch any movie about King Arthur without that popping into my head).
ETA: I totally forgot this one! "Doctor" "Doctor" "Doctor" "Doctor" "Doctor" - Spys Like Us

Date: 2011-12-09 03:01 am (UTC)From:However, I did love Ghost Busters and Princess Bride
Some of the lines in both were classics.
The line where Weaver opens the door to Murray after she has been
'rearranged' by the demon was hilarious.
I forget now what he said but it was classic
Also some of the banter in Princess Bride, 'as you wish' as Westley replied to commands from Buttercup
and speaking of commands, although it is not from a film,
I also love the quote: "Your wish is my command" which Stonewall Jackson used whenever he replied to a message which Robert E. Lee sent him.

I love that one so much I had it engraved on my huband's wedding ring.
I have no idea what movie this came from, but I use it frequently,
"Beat me, slash me, call me Irma!"
If anyone knows where it came from, please let me know. I know I've been using it since the early 80's

Date: 2011-12-09 04:49 am (UTC)From:Only they're usually not direct quotes -- it's usually the quote with the main noun dropped out and replaced with whatever is appropriate to the situation. ("The pie is a lie!" ... or whatever.)
And also, "Nooooooo!" from ... just about everything ever. *g*
My sister and I have a lot of quotes from our childhood ... Looney Tunes is a big one, and also random movie and TV references from the 80s and early 90s. (I'm having trouble coming up with good examples off the top of my head, but I know there are a lot of them!) And song lyrics too ...

Date: 2011-12-09 07:57 pm (UTC)From:I've been wondering where that came from. It's been driving me nuts.
All my favorite video game quotes come from either American McGee's Alice or Clive Barker's Undying. My ultimate favorites that I actually use are "I'm not stupid, don't make me think you are" and "you look more a meal than a man." Man I miss my games, but our computer had an overhaul and it no longer has a game card *tries not to cry.*
Then there's "Oh, no, not the broccoli! Oh no not the cauliflower!" which my family would say all the time but they can never tell me precisely where it came from (my mom says it's from one of the Police Academy movies but I could have sworn they said it was from a movie called Bruce Lee Jr. or something).

Date: 2011-12-09 05:11 am (UTC)From:My newest one? "It's so fuzzy, I'm gonna die!" and "No annoying Sounds" (Despicable Me)
When arriving at my sister in law's house: "Here I am!" (Zorro, the Gay Blade)
ANYTHING from Young Frankenstein and Princess Bride. Which is hard when your friends have never seen the movie and don't have a clue.

The ones I've been using recently are the one from Princess Bride that you mentioned, "I've got a ____, ____s are cool!" from Doctor Who, the lines from the "Beer Bad" episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, "OH HAI" line from The Room, "What a crazy random happenstance!" from Dr. Horrible, and that's all I can think of at this time of night.

But my go to's most days are:
'I'll be back'
'It wasn't me, it was the one armed man!' - both the Fugitive version and Jim Carrey's
'There is no try'
'Don't mention the war!' - ok, that's a Fawlty Towers one, but its amazing how often I use it :)

"Bring out your dead!" "But I'm not dead, yet." (always quoted with the English accent)
"What's in the box? Nothing, absolutely nothing!" (*wonders if ANYBODY will guess that one)
"It's aliiiiiive!" (Stripes! version)
"The Force is with you, young Skywalker...but you are not a Jedi, yet."

"...and besides, I still owe you from the thing with the guy in the place and I'll never forget it." (Ocean's Eleven)
"Look, he's landed on his head!" (Where The Money Is)
"I don't want to get into a semantical argument, I just want the protein, okay?" (Grosse Pointe Blank)
"Let's shampoo us some aliens!" (Evolution)
"You need to find a highly-qualified psychiatrist, not a psychologist, you're gonna need some drugs." (Joyride)
And I need not re-post The Princess Bride quotes. :)
