kriadydragon: (Monty Python)
Snurched from [livejournal.com profile] sholio because it looks like fun :D

Name a fandom you know (that you think I know too!) and I'll tell you:

1. The first character I first fell in love with
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now
3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t
4. The character I love that everyone else hates
5. The character I used to love but don’t any longer
6. The character I would totally hug (because smooching is a little too personal).
7. The character I’d want to be like
8. The character I’d slap
9. A pairing that I love
10. A pairing that I despise

To help you out, the things I've written stuff for over the years: SGA, White Collar, CSI: NY, Magnificent 7, Andromeda, Numbers, A Team, Haven, Suits, Dr. Who. This can also include things I haven't written for but do watch, such as The Walking Dead, Criminal Minds and Psych.

Woot!

1. The first character I first fell in love with - Sheppard, who wasn't the Jack!clone I first thought him to be. Although there was no one particular episode that finally sucked me in. It was actually writing fanfic for it that did. I needed a sci-fi show for a story idea, and there was Stargate Atlantis. And the rest, as they say, is history ;)

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now - Ronon, probably. He started off as the cliche big silent type but as the show progressed became more and more the adorable big kid that always makes me smile.

3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t: I can't really think of any. I kind of want to say Rodney but that's more a matter of me liking him just not in the same way I like Sheppard, so I don't think that counts.

4. The character I love that everyone else hates - Um... can't really think of anyone...

5. The character I used to love but don’t any longer - Can't think of anyone.

6. The character I would totally hug (because smooching is a little too personal) - Sheppard, obviously ;) though Ronon comes in second.

7. The character I’d want to be like - Teyla

8. The character I’d slap - That chick from the Tower I suppose

9. A pairing that I love - Don't really have one

10. A pairing that I despise - I'm not into pairings enough to have one I despise.

Date: 2012-02-18 01:56 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-erikah-x.livejournal.com
LOL! Number 8! I'd definitely slap Kavanaugh, but that chick would be a close second.

White Collar!

Date: 2012-02-17 09:47 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] kriadydragon.livejournal.com
1. The first character I first fell in love with - Neal, but not because of his hotness (though that did help). It's because he ended up being the opposite of my assumptions about him. He wasn't just another good looking womanizer sleeping around at every opportunity. He's a romantic and loyal and cares a lot about others. He totally defied my expectations and once I realized this I fell hard for both him and the show.

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now - Like you, I didn't like Mozzie at first but he grew on me. I love how him and El are pretty much BFFs :D

3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t - Can't really think of anyone.

4. The character I love that everyone else hates - Sara, though, yeah, I wouldn't say love. Just like.

5. The character I used to love but don’t any longer - can't think of anyone.

6. The character I would totally hug (because smooching is a little too personal) - Neal :D I'm always wanting to hug him ;)

7. The character I’d want to be like - Elizabeth

8. The character I’d slap - Um... Keller, I guess?

9. A pairing that I love - Peter/Elizabeth. It's so nice to have a show that doesn't get most of its drama from marital difficulties, and that shows married life in a more positive light.

10. A pairing that I despise - none. Really, I'm neither here nor there about pairings, though I will admit I'm not quite as on board with Neal/Alex as most. Sara, I think, would be more likely to help Neal stay on the straight and narrow and would be more open to settling down. Alex... not so much IMO.

sholio: Neal from White Collar looking down (WhiteCollar-Neal sidelight)
My gateway into the show was Peter rather than Neal, but I really do adore them both, and one of the things I love most about Neal is that he's so much more than he appears at first glance - his charming con-man ways are tempered by a genuine underlying sweetness and kindness, fidelity and faithfulness. I agree about Neal/Alex - and this isn't because I ship Neal/Sara (I don't, really; I just don't mind it); it's just that Alex would never settle down, and having a relationship with her would almost certainly pull him back to the dark side.

1. The first character I first fell in love with - Nathan. It took me a while to get into this show and Nathan's condition. But the more I thought about it, the more fascinated with the concept I became, and now I'm hooked.

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now - Audrey. I was a little annoyed by her at first, but now that I came to know her I feel her to be very down to earth and practical, and I like that.

3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t - Probably Duke. I do't hate Duke or anything, but sometimes he has a way of getting on my nerves.

4. The character I love that everyone else hates - can't really think of anyone.

5. The character I used to love but don’t any longer - again, can't really think of anyone.

6. The character I would totally hug (because smooching is a little too personal) - Nathan, even if he wouldn't feel it.

7. The character I’d want to be like - Audrey

8. The character I’d slap - Duke, sometimes

9. A pairing that I love - Not really into pairings so can't say.

10. A pairing that I despise - None. I do despise love triangles, though, so I'm glad the show pretty much did away with that.

So take your pick

1. The first character I first fell in love with - Rick. Oh, poor Rick. He gets shot, he's in a coma, he wakes up and it's the end of the blasted world. But he keeps going, focused on not only taking care of others but doing right by others. But he's also not afraid to do what he needs to in order to keep others safe.

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now - Daryl. He comes off as a creep but deep down he's a good guy. I hope he stays that way but, at this point, who knows.

3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t - Shane. I'm sorry but that guy is falling apart in scary ways. And though he talks a big game of doing what's best for the others, he's too quick to take action. I wouldn't be surprised if he did end up killing one of the group, thinking it for the best.

4. The character I love that everyone else hates - Don't know.

5. The character I used to love but don’t any longer - Lori

6. The character I would totally hug (because smooching is a little too personal) - Rick

7. The character I’d want to be like - Andrea. She's really toughening up.

8. The character I’d slap - Shane

9. A pairing that I love - none

10. A pairing that I despise - Glenn and Beth. I just... really don't like Beth. She needs to figure out what she wants, especially if Glenn decides to stay with her.

Date: 2012-02-17 10:13 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] black-raven135.livejournal.com
Fascinating and so true of how I feel also
I fell hard for Rick for same reasons you specify.
He is such a tortured soul.........so traumatized initially and now equally for different reasons.
His best friend is unraveling right in front of him
He took care of Sophia when nobody else would and same was was true in the bar scene..........
I think we will see a new Rick evolving and I am hopeful it is not for the worse

Shane is neither a villain or a hero, just someone who is caught up in an unbelievable situation and is trying to make some sense of what he has left.
The problem is he is too wired to continue down the road he has taken.........afraid he and Rick will come to lock horns and it might be too much.

Lori has been leading Shane on. When he said he was leaving she asked him not to, but earlier had told him to stay totally away........
She cannot have it both ways.
I am tired of her and wonder why on earth she took the car to go to town. Does this mean Rick cannot handle the problem? He knows that Beth is in shock.
UGH!! she is too much

Do you mean Glenn and Maggie? Beth is Maggie's blonde sister.........

Date: 2012-02-17 10:32 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] kriadydragon.livejournal.com
Maggie, yes! I looked up the show on IMBd to get the names right but could only find Beth's name for some reason :/

I feel so bad for Shane but, at the same time, I also think he's digging his own grave (metaphorically speaking). I agree with his thinking but his actions speak of someone close to tipping over the edge (or, more accurately, is in the process of tipping over the edge) and you know that's going to come back and bite not just him but everyone.

And I think Rick is in the same position, only at the opposite end of the spectrum. He's been trying so hard to keep the peace that for a while I wondered if he had it in him to make the hard decisions. But then that bar scene... I'll be honest, I loved that scene. We now know that Rick is not someone you want to mess with.

Lori is just... argh! What the heck was she thinking, driving after Rick like that? The guy's not only a cop but managed to survive staggering through a zombie infested city with no weapons and wearing only a hospital gown and boxers. Oh, and he managed to get half the gang out of another zombie infested city despite all the odds being stacked against them. Yeah, I think the guy can take care of himself.

Date: 2012-02-17 11:32 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] black-raven135.livejournal.com
Tipping over the edge is putting it mildly
I fear he might drag Rick down into the abyss with him given how tight they have been..........
He was right though when he told Rick in passing, following the barn incident, "You are as deluded as Hershel. Things are no longer the same"

Rick tried to reason with the scavengers, but they could not hear his warning. He was warning them, in a cautionary way by saying "That can't happen"
If someone said that to me I would hear it, particularly given the fact that earlier he tells them he is a cop.
I think the bar has turned the bend for him.........
Deeply concerned for him.

YES Lori is really pushing ALL the buttons for me.
Her games with Shane, her demands on Rick, which are usually accusatory in nature, e.g. when he returned to Atlanta
and now this thing where she takes the car into town.
((((rolls eyes)))))

But then that bar scene... I'll be honest, I loved that scene. We now know that Rick is not someone you want to mess with.

Too bad Shane was not there. He might have made him pause.....have given him second thoughts about some of the accusations he has hurled at Rick.

1. The first character I first fell in love with - Reid. I love skinny, geeky guys and he's so adorable :D

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now - Garcia, probably. I think I may have written her off as annoying at first, but it was a short-lived write-off. I love that they have a woman who is strong in the geek force, and I utterly relate to her love for all things colorful and sparkly :D

3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t - Ummm... I'm not the biggest fan of Prentiss. I don't hate her or anything but I feel like the show focuses too much on her and I hate it when shows do that.

4. The character I love that everyone else hates - can't think of anyone.

5. The character I used to love but don’t any longer - Again, can't think of anyone.

6. The character I would totally hug (because smooching is a little too personal) - Yeah, Reid ;P

7. The character I’d want to be like - Garcia :D

8. The character I’d slap - none

9. A pairing that I love - I think Garcia and her nerdy boyfriend are adorable, as is the Garcia and Morgan friendship. And I love that Garcia's boyfriend isn't threatened by her friendship with Morgan at all. BFFs FTW!

10. A pairing that I despise - none

*Drools* Man I miss this show :D

Date: 2012-02-17 10:19 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] kriadydragon.livejournal.com
1. The first character I first fell in love with - heh, this is a bit tricky, because I started off with JD as my favorite, then moved on to Ezra, then moved on to Vin. But I think I've finally settled on Vin (though I still like Ezra, and even JD on occasion).

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now - Vin. I liked him when the show first started, but I didn't think he'd become my all time favorite.

3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t - probably Buck. His constant sleeping around and trying to get every pretty woman he meets to sleep with him was just skeevy and I really don't like characters like that.

4. The character I love that everyone else hates - I'm not sure who everyone hates so can't really say.

5. The character I used to love but don’t any longer - JD. I still like him, just not as much as I used to.

6. The character I would totally hug (because smooching is a little too personal) - Vin :D

7. The character I’d want to be like - Jedidiah.

8. The character I’d slap - Buck

9. A pairing that I love - none

10. A pairing that I despise - Vin and that married woman. Vin's big episodes and it's all about him committing adultery. WTF! That never happened in my head canon :P

Date: 2012-02-17 10:23 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] tari-roo.livejournal.com
I agree completely with no 10. Wagon Train was fairly dismal. The other Vin-centric episode was much better - the Eli Joe one.

Strangely enough, I still to this day feel an urge to slap Maude.

Thanks!

Date: 2012-02-17 10:42 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] kriadydragon.livejournal.com
I loved the Eli Joe one. I wished they hadn't killed him off so quickly. I would have loved to see him as a recurring villain. If I ever get back into writing M7 I should do an AU in which Eli isn't dead and comes back to give Vin heck (with a little torture on the side ;)).

Date: 2012-02-17 10:45 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] tari-roo.livejournal.com
I would love you forever if you wrote that fic! *gah!* I agree completely, we needed more Eli Joe. It felt very convenient to kill him off, instead of allowing Vin future opportunities to clear his name.

I've been trawling through old M7 fic favs and I'm sure I have some Eli Joe AU, somewhere.

Miss those boys, sometimes (often) :)

((((NODS))))))))
and same for item #8
I also find JD annoying
Kind of think Buck and JD deserve to hang around each other.

Date: 2012-02-18 02:53 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] kriadydragon.livejournal.com
I think what came to bug me about JD wasn't JD himself but that the show didn't really let him progress as a character. He was the same bumbling, naive kid throughout, and I didn't like that. After everything he'd seen and done and the group he was hanging with, you would expect some development - better shooting skills, better planning skills, more common sense, something. But he didn't change a lick and that annoyed me.

1. The first character I first fell in love with - Danny. When the show wasn't even aired, yet, and we were given a snippet of it in CSI: Miami, my immediate thought was that I was going to give CSI: NY a try because of Danny and it's pretty much been the reason I watched it since.

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now - Lindsey. I was iffy at first because new characters have a bad habit of taking over a show, but Lindsey didn't.

3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t - probably Adam. I liked him much better as a background character but once he was put more to the forefront he started to get kind of annoying for me.

4. The character I love that everyone else hates - Not a clue.

5. The character I used to love but don’t any longer - Again, Adam.

6. The character I would totally hug (because smooching is a little too personal) - Danny :D And possibly Flack

7. The character I’d want to be like - Mac or Hawkes

8. The character I’d slap - Well, even though I'm not an Adam fan he hasn't gotten to the point where I want to slap him, so no one in particular.

9. A pairing that I love - I'm not an uber fan of Danny/Lindsey but I do love what the show did with it. It's so rare for characters to get together and stay together and I like that they have.

10. A pairing that I despise - none

Date: 2012-02-18 08:18 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] leoraine.livejournal.com
Hee, thanks. I'm pretty much on the same bandwagon as you, about the characters I like or the Danny/Lindsey pairing. I don't really do pairings, but the way the show handled it... that kept them together... is just sweet. And it's kinda nice to watch a pairing on a tv show without much drama involved.

Also just a note: I totally loved your CSI:NY fics, as they were the best in the fandom IMHO. If I look around trying to find some CSI NY fic, I still have to come back to yours:-)

I'm torn between Numbers and Dr. Who, so I'll let you pick.

Date: 2012-02-19 02:41 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] kriadydragon.livejournal.com
How about both?

I'll start with Dr. Who.

1. The first character I first fell in love with - The Tenth Doctor. Even before I watched the show I was hearing about David Tennant as the Doctor. I thought David looked hot so I thought let's give Dr. Who a try, so I got the first season on DVD, and after a couple of episodes I was hooked. I loved his manic goofiness coupled with his occasional fierceness, and loved the overall whimsy of the show.

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now - Donna. I didn't like her in Runaway Bride at first but was psyched when she returned in season four

3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t - Amy Pond. I like her but I feel like the new Dr. Who became too Amy focused and less Doctor focused. There was just too much rescuing Amy and less Amy being capable and helping out.

4. The character I love that everyone else hates - probably Martha. Her infatuation with the Doctor was a tad annoying but I loved how capable she was.

5. The character I used to love but don’t any longer - Amy Pond, again for the same reasons.

6. The character I would totally hug (because smooching is a little too personal) - It's a tie between the Doctor and Wilf.

7. The character I’d want to be like - Donna

8. The character I’d slap - Donna's mom

9. A pairing that I love - Amy/Rory

10. A pairing that I despise - None.

Date: 2012-02-19 03:26 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] karri-kln1671.livejournal.com
I like Amy, but I do agree that the new seasons have been too Amy focused. I always liked Donna's spunk from the very beginning, though I get why she wouldn't have been immediately appealing. Still, for me, after Rose and then again after Martha, it was fun to have a companion that wasn't quite so enchanted with the Doctor. It was good for him, I think.

Date: 2012-02-19 02:49 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] kriadydragon.livejournal.com
Numbers

1. The first character I first fell in love with - Charlie. I can kind of relate to him. I'm not into math even remotely but I know what it's like to be obsessed with something (writing for me). And I loved his quirkiness.

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now - I would have to say Don, though he's fluctuated on me. I still like him but I hated how, for a time, his story arc was whoever he happened to be sleeping with and he was doing that a lot. It eventually became one of the reasons I stopped watching.

3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t - Colby. It seemed like once Colby came onto the scene Don was relegated to desk duty and wasn't doing as much.

4. The character I love that everyone else hates - I'm not sure who everyoe hates. Amita, I guess? I think there was some negativity toward Amita, which I don't get as she was awesome.

5. The character I used to love but don’t any longer - Don. But, like I said, I fluctuated with him.

6. The character I would totally hug (because smooching is a little too personal) - Charlie.

7. The character I’d want to be like - Amita

8. The character I’d slap - Don when his story arc became his love life.

9. A pairing that I love - Charlie/Amita

10. A pairing that I despise - Charlie and that blond friend of his who I guess he slept with, I can't remember her name. I hated that episode like crazy and tossed it right out of my head canon.

Date: 2012-02-19 03:23 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] karri-kln1671.livejournal.com
